Great experience! We enjoyed playing the online game . I enjoyed these puzzles because they were innovative and challenging. The interface worked well and we were able to easily join two other players in different locations. I highly recommend it

I went to New York with my family last year, it was our 1st time in New york. Me and my husband were looking for something to do with the kids. So glad my 17 year old picked this, we had a blast. Clue Lou was awesome and made it so much fun. I know I'm late in this review but that is how much he impacted our vacation time. Thank you so much.

Such an amazing spot! I have been to all four of Clue Chase's rooms, and they are all amazingly designed and very challenging and fun. The puzzles in the rooms are very creative, and the rooms are definitely a great activity for people of all ages. The staff are all very helpful and friendly and will give you extra clues if you need help while in a room. They are also very understanding if you have a member who is running late (as this has happened to me on almost every occasion), and will let them in late or let you wait for them. I have done three of the rooms with groups, and one of them in which we were with people we didn't know. While it may sound daunting to be locked in a room with strangers, we definitely all had a great time. I definitely have to say that Alien Encounter is my favorite, as the room has a great design, and the puzzles require a lot of team effort. I actually did this one with a group I was in a play with, and we all had to act as our character in the show. It was a great character-building exercise, and I would totally do this room again! I also appreciate how there is a story connecting the rooms, unlike some other escape-the-room places. I cannot wait for Clue Chase to make another room!

This was my first experience in an Escape Room and it was a bit of a let down. While the clues were fun, the room hadn't been set up properly. There were two boxes that were supposed to be locked that weren't. When we found a key that was supposed to unlock it, we spent unnecessary time trying to find where the key was supposed to go because one box that was meant to be locked wasn't. We also found a secret compartment that was supposed to hold that key but when we found the compartment, there was nothing in it. When the guide came back into the room, he clearly planted it and acted as if we had just missed it. There was also another secret compartment holding a clue that was supposed to be shut that wasn't, which led us to "find" chess pieces instantly. Lastly, the guide never asked our for our consent before giving clues, he just gave them unsolicited. While I appreciate guides are there to help us work through any missed clues, we should be the ones to ask for the help.

It deeply saddens us to hear you did not have an enjoyable experience in our Lost Spy room this past weekend. We strive to make sure that every guest has an amazing time in our escape rooms, and take your feedback seriously. I would like to take some time to address your individual concerns, so we can work towards making a better game for you and all future customers. 1) Firstly, we apologize that you feel you were over-clued during the game. As it was your first escape room experience, we understand your thinking in wanting to determine when to receive clues. When we first opened we even tried to let people decide when they want hints but have found that to be problematic. Given the nature of the game, players don’t realize how close or far they are to solving any specific puzzle. Some players may hesitate to ask for help to try and figure things out themselves and spend an exorbitant amount of time on a puzzle when a simple hint could help them move along. That wasted time takes away from the experience of the rest of the game and resulted in people only playing part of the game. Obviously if players are doing well we won’t hint, and try to leave our hints to observational or gentle nudges to allow our players to get the satisfaction of solving puzzles and challenges. Having run thousands of escape room games over the years with tens of thousands of very happy customers we now rely on a combination of us sending hints at our discretion to provide the best experience for our customers. 2) Our sincerest apologies that the medicine box in the room hadn't been properly sealed beforehand. There is nothing more frustrating than wasting time on opening something you don't need. We have taken action with our staff to ensure that this doesn't happen again. 3) In regards to the chess pieces in the compartment, those are meant to be used readily at any point in the game. We try to have them semi-apparent for players to find for an easy win in the beginning to get the group feeling good, and focused on their objective. However, we have taken your comments into consideration about possibly making them more fun to discover. 4) We can assure you that we did not slip in the key after the game. It was there, just difficult to see, as the zipper that contains the key can push it deeper into one side of the containing item, somewhat obscuring it from view. Again, we are truly sorry that this experience was lackluster. We appreciate your comments and have taken them to heart. Thank you so much for playing here at Clue Chase.

We took our 14 year old son and joined a group of five guys from Brooklyn that we had never met before. Despite having never met, we worked really well together and diffused the bomb with more than 8 minutes left to go. Our Dr. Cool, whose name was not Jeff and slightly reminiscent of Seth Rogan was awesome and incredibly talented. Having done other escape rooms where clues were delivered remotely through a computer screen, it was great to have the ability to interact with Dr. Cool and Agent Hickham! Highly recommend this experience!

We had 10 people in New York to celebrate a birthday and chose this activity to do as a group while we we together. Clue Chase was a great venue to us to get together to do something we had not done in the past. The staff at Clue Chase was very friendly and helpful with our group and the facility we excellent for this activity.

I would recommend Clue Chase as a group activity for a group of any age adults.

My friends and I decided to do the "Alien Encounter" escape room offered by Clue Chase when one of our numbers said she wanted to try an escape for her birthday. After researching the many options in NYC, we picked this one, and we weren't disappointed.

The location is a bit weird, in the basement of The Grace Building, but once you're there, you really don't care anymore. The important part is the experience. The staff were WONDERFUL! Welcoming and enthusiastic, really setting the stage for the 60-minute adventure. The waiting room has puzzles to solve, so if you arrive early you are not bored and the setup for the game is detailed enough to help without being too sappy or too boring. You can get going quickly.

The game itself was very well-designed and engrossing. While we weren't successful in completing all of the tasks in the allotted time (only 25% of the groups are!), we had a great time and agreed that we would like to do another room very soon. Now comes the good news. Not only does Clue Chase offer three other games, they have woven a storyline that connects all the games, so if you finish all four of them, you get to solve a final puzzle.

When you finish your own room, if you want to play another one right away and they can accommodate you, they'll give you a discount. If we had not had other plans I'm certain we would have taken them up on it right then and there.

Do you want the single best piece of advice to be successful? (Don't worry, I won't give anything away.) Work together! There are some things that you just can't solve alone. Have fun!

Hi Gilthoniel4, Thanks so much for your kind words. As time traveling scientists we're always very glad to hear our v̶i̶c̶t̶i̶m̶s̶ volunteers, have had a good time with us! It makes the endless hours in the lab toiling over quantum stuff and wibbly-wobbly time all worth it. We're looking forward to having you join us again, either in the past or the future!

This was our first visit to Clue Chase, but our fifth Escape Room as a family. So we know a good one when we find it. And we certainly found it here!
From the outset, when we were met in the lobby of the building by a guy in a lab coat, we got an inkling that they were not just going through the motions. We were handed over to another lab tech who performed the intro as two very entertaining characters. Hilarious, and a lovely touch!

The first room was full of really clever puzzles - I would say easy to medium difficulty.
There were opportunities for individual solving but also team efforts and the clues progressed nicely from the first room into the second. Here the puzzles were tougher, but still great fun - including one that had us literally running round for the final code!

We were provided with an erasable slate to make notes on, which was nice, along with a torch (flash light) for looking in dark areas. A screen showed The countdown timer and The occasional clue when we were struggling. The quality of the props was excellent throughout.

At the end we had a debrief and a photo (with dress-up props)

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience. A great way to spend an afternoon in NYC.

Thank you so much for the kind review! We're glad you enjoyed your experience with us, and hopefully we'll see you again! I'll be sure to pass your words along to Lou, as he's the only host we have here who regularly gives intros across multiple characters. (He's awesome.) All the best, Clue Chase
