My husband and I discovered the carousel while walking around the Battery one evening. I HAD to check it out! This concept is beautiful, from the fish to the music, to even the mechanics of the motion. A star is missing from me because although it has a lock-in car for patrons with wheelchairs (standing was not an option, as per the ride operator), it does not have a regular bench seat like most carousels do. That would be useful for those with mobility (or other) issues who do not use a wheelchair but would prefer to ride sitting down. I will still recommend this to others to visit.

Sought this out purposefully as I really wanted to see just how beautiful it was after reading about it online. It didn't disappoint, absolutely mesmerising music and motion of the carousel. There was a steady queue of children waiting to ride it and a steady queue of adults entranced by how beautiful it is/was. The music is really apt too - reminded me of Twin Peaks.

I was visiting NYC with my 12 year-old son and we decided to try out the Sea Glass Carousel. We loved it so much, we went twice! Once during day and one at night. Worth the detour!

My daughter (16) and her friend wanted to go here while we were in NYC for the weekend for a Broadway show. To be honest, I really didn’t want to make the trek (15-20 minute drive). So glad we did! This was so unique and fun for the girls! We were there on a brisk Sunday afternoon and it was pretty. I can only imagine how it would be in the warmer weather and a litter later in the day when you can see the beautiful lights. They also play soft relaxing music. It was magical! Don’t miss it!
