I wanted to take my 8 year old daughter to the Natural History Museum but was concerned it would be overwhelming for us both so I signed up for a tour with Art Smart. Definitely glad that I did! We took a 2 hour tour (which still only covered a fraction of the museum) and hit a number of highlights including a few halls that we had specifically requested. Our guide, William, was incredibly knowledgable and friendly. My daughter and I learned a lot about sea life, the history of the earth, evolution and dinosaurs among other things. Most importantly, I learned that Art Smart is a great resource for educational yet fun tours in NYC. We will definitely sign up for another the next time we are in the city.

Thank you Michelle! We know how challenging large museums can be for families to navigate, and we love letting parents just relax and enjoy knowing the whole family will be in for a treat. And we're so excited to have William on the team. He's my son's favorite guide and my son, being raised in museums, is one of the toughest critics! We look forward to seeing you soon on another adventure.

My two teenage daughters and I had a fabulous tour at the Met with Marina yesterday! She was engaging, friendly, and highly knowledgable. I emailed the company ahead of time letting them know what our specific interests were, and Marina had prepared a tour just for us. We skipped the lines, made a beeline to the highlights we were most interested in, and engaged deeply with some truly memorable works of art. We are still talking about these works and will remember them forever. Worth every penny!!

Amy, thank you so much for your review! Our team is always so pleased to deliver the best experiences of museums. It warms my heart that teens were involved; we've heard stories about how kids' art experiences with us have made impact 10+ years later as they continue their lifelong love of the arts that started with our tours. I'm thrilled to know that you'll keep treasuring those moments with us!

Our Art Smart guide, Anna, took me and my 10 year old daughter on a 2 hour tour of the American Museum of Natural History. She planned the perfect tour in the perfect amount of time that was just right for my daughter. She was not only incredibly knowledgeable about the exhibits themselves, but she knew the museum layout like the back of her hand so that we wasted no time wandering around or looking for exhibits. She was EXCELLENT with my daughter. Even though Anna is young (compared to me!), a professor at a college in the city, and a current PhD candidate in Art History, she engaged my daughter as though she was a life-long 4th grade teacher. We did a lot of incredible things while in the city, but my daughter has told everyone her favorite part was the Museum tour with Anna. I will NEVER go to a museum in NYC without Art Smart. No giant groups that move at a turtle pace. No wasted time listening to group guides, or taped guides on exhibits you aren’t interested in. No wandering around looking for maps, stairs, bathrooms, exhibits. Art Smart provides a personalized museum experience tailored to your exact needs, interests, and requests led by incredibly knowledgeable guides so that you spend every minute soaking in the priceless treasures housed within the walls.

Thank you very much for your heartwarming feedback! Indeed, this is what Art Smart is all about: we take our clients, especially children, to a whole new level of museum experience to show them how incredibly amazing the world of art and history is. We aim to inspire the younger generations to continue shaping the future of the world of art. That is why our guides are actual art historians, with most of them being doctors of the subject matter. Art Smart does not settle with anything less than a truly unique and memorable experience. We hope to see you and your daughter again in the future.

We took the artsmart tour at the MET “ how to look at art”. It was perfect. They communicated with us several times during the days leading up to the tour. We had not trouble meet8ng up with our guide. Christian was our guide. He is an artist himself and an art professor so he really knew his stuff. It was wonderful to understand what we were seeing and how the artists influenced one another and to see the evolution of the art. Highly recommend

We had a before-hours tour of the Guggenheim Museum with 50 international professional students from Washington University in St. Louis. It offered a unique and enriching experience. Our tour organizer alerted us that the internationally renowned artist Nick Cave, who hails from Fulton, Missouri, would be on display at the Guggenheim during our visit to NYC. He is known for his innovative work in a variety of mediums, including sculpture, installation, and performance. Having his work on display at the museum added to the richness of the experience and provided a unique connection to our local area. Our curators provided some thoughtful planning and facilitation to ensure that everyone was engaged and had a wonderful experience.

Booking with ArtSmart was incredibly easy. They have a great website and lots of availability. Compared with other private tour options, they have reasonable prices, and guides with many different expertises.
Anna was amazing, she was on time, and prepared to go without any hesitation. On our tour, she guided us through the highlights, and was happy to stop to discuss anything that caught our eye. I will book again with ArtSmart, and hope that Anna is available to be our guide.

I can say that without this experience, the visit to the Met would have not been the same.
Our tour guide, Whitney, was very inviting and engaging. Gave us a new perspective on the art collection and helped us understand so much more about what we were seeing thus making the experience that much more rewarding. I booked this tour as a present for my wife and she was so excited. The time flew by! Something that doesn't happen often (at lest to me) when I visit museums. We even chose to skip the wine reception and continue enjoying the exhibits.
Highly recommended!

My children were wary of going to a Museum on our recent annual NYC trip. I typically make them go to at least 1 museum.... reluctantly. I asked my daughter today what the favorite part of the vacation thus far and she said, the trip to the Met. The Museum is likely overwhelming for 99.8% of humanity, so it was such a treat to have an amazingly knowledgeable art historian take us through a small portion of the rooms. They were engaged, they loved the history, as did I.

It was our pleasure!
Your example underscores the difference between docents and art historians. Docents are often volunteers with basic training. Our team guides are true art historians who have studied at the graduate level and are trained in our Art Smart style on how to captivate the audiences. I'm particularly proud of how well we do with "reluctant" visitors.
We appreciate your review and look forward to seeing you next year.
