The couple who gives the tour seem like very nice people... professionally, this was not a professionally organized tour. They often times were not in sync going back and forth in front of the group about what to do next. The poetry was supposed to be romantic for Valentine's Day but they picked pieces of suicide multiple times from poets who had lovey content. The best poetry we heard were from the people on the tour who wrote things for their Valentines. Also, they used outdated terms like "negros", "indians"(referring to indigenous people), and "a gay" following it up with saying "but he wrote about things that weren't just gay like grief". Again, very nice people, absolutely not worth $40 per person to do a tour around the village that google could provide more information on.

We are so sorry we offended you by the use of outdated terms and highlighting the dark backstories of some poets on a romantic Valentine's Day Tour. We appreciate your feedback very much because we do not want to offend anyone. We want to make everyone feel welcome and included. We will be making adjustments based on your feedback. We agree that some of the best poetry we heard was created by our guests and feel that this was a very unique and romantic part of the tour. Thank you, Steve and Susan

10/10 experience! The Valentine’s Day poetry was most definitely a great way to begin a day full of love. It was well planned, and coordinated. The tour guides were amazing. Highly recommend all couples to join in on this fun. I was able to surprise my boyfriend with an original poem and read it in front of the group with a great view to remember always. I want to thank both Susan and Steve for a beautiful experience, can’t wait to try out a different tour!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate your feedback and am so happy to hear you had a good experience. I'm glad you mentioned that you wrote a poem and read it to your sweetheart in front of the group. We encouraged couples to do this, and some brave romantics did, and it really created a personal touch. We look forward to you joining us on another tour soon! Thank you! Susan and Steve

First off, let me say that the Kornbilts are fabulous and incredibly kind people. I love what they're doing and the tour overall was great. That said, here are my list of things that I think if changed would benefit the tour: - Take out any of the stuff about suicide. The tour itself was romantic, but a lot of the talk about suicide was a bit much. I understand that many of the great love poets committed suicide due to their love, but the amount that it was talked about was way too much. Also remove any of the negative/sad poems from the packet/tour. We took the tour to just feel the love and be happy, not be bogged down with the sad parts of love lol. - Make the tour shorter. Not even because it was cold out, but mainly because the tour just felt a little too long. I think taking a few pages out of the packet that we went through would make the tour feel a lot less long and more enjoyable. - Maybe hire a better speaker or MC? This might sound harsh, but someone with a little more charisma leading the tour would elevate the tour from a 6.5/7 to a solid 9/10. Just something to think about. Again, I had a good time! Would definitely recommend for a couple wanting something different to do!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such an in depth review of our poetry tour! It's wonderful to get feedback on how to improve and we appreciate your comments and suggestions. Poetry is such a personal experience and you are absolutely right about the dark side of love being a downer; we will definitely take into consideration the type of poems and backstories we feature; especially on a romantic day like Valentines Day! We are glad you had a good time and we hope you join us on another tour soon!
