If you are a fan of pickles or pickled thing this is a must stop when in NYC. The brussel sprouts and pineapple are out of this world. We will placing online order soon. The staff were very nice and very patient as we taste tested before we purchased. I can't express how happy I was to be there.

This small shop has an amazing selection of pickles which they sell from barrels. We wanted to bring ours home to England and they wrapped the pots up so well that not a drop spilled in our bags and we are still enjoying them two weeks after getting home. The pickled garlic is especially delicious. We wish this shop was in Oxford!

Every time we go to New York, we make a pit stop at the Pickle Guys. Part delicious things to eat, part entertainment. The first time we came, we bought a few quarts. Now, we pack a bin and a sharpie and take orders from our friends. The pickles (in the classic sense), come in garlic, full pickle, half pickle and fresh. There are olives, carrots, sweet peppers, hot peppers, okra and even pickled pineapple. Want to taste something before buying it? Just ask - then step away from the barrels to avoid cross-contaminating. The place is tiny (like a big hallway), and full of character. The staff are colourful and we enjoy the banter every time we are there (I think they are impressed by our bin and love over-selling us...). Anyway, funny place for a french canadian girl to love, but there it is. I love the Pickle Guys.

Authentic pickles, good selection. However, the service is highly unprofessional and classless. I went during a pre-passover period so they have someone grinding fresh horseradish. I entered the shop and noticed there was a guy at the horseradish counter attended a customer. I was second in line and waited figuring he was filling a big order. Over five long New York minutes passed and the gnarly looking guy with crooked teeth said nothing to me. So I decide to go get my pickles first instead and comeback for the horseradish since they guy was taking his time. The pickle guy gave me service (but oddly no pickle was offered - they usually offer a free one while filling the order) and asked me if I wanted anything else. I told him I wanted horseradish. He then tells me that after you pay, you get a token and then after depositing the token by the horseradish guy, he will fill your order. What?! I am now upset because the horseradish guy basically ignored me and wasted my time. Then the pickle guy offers me a free pickle although the customer before me was offered one right after his order was placed, not when I'm about to leave. When I pay and then deposit my token at the horseradish station, the horseradish guy has the nerve to say "well there's a fast learner". What a rude, classless jerk. I live on the same block and will get my pickles elsewhere. They are expensive too. Not worth a detour.

Fun place to pop by while in the Lower East Side. Very near the Tenement Museum. Great half sours, spicy, and garlic!

Great spot with so many different picked options. The guys working there are helpful if you don't know what you're after. Was busy when I went but I understand why. Will definitely be going back.

They have a wide assortment of pickled items. I like liked the pineapple and bread/butter pickles. Don't be afraid to ask for a sample if you can't decide!

This little hole in the wall near the edge of Chinatown offerings many things "pickled" and to sample what is offered is a delight. You will want to walk out with small containers of many different things, and will be glad that you did. If your looking for a great "old dill" pickle (the kind that good Deli's use to offer but rarely do any more), this place can sell you a barrel-full of them - and more than one type!
