My wife and I visited on the advice of a friend, and also because it was so convenient to the Christopher St subway station. We got there very late, around midnight. The host clearly stated the cover policy and we paid $10 each since it...More
This jazz club has the bar area near entrance and the music area at back side.
The music was excellent and the waitress was good.
BUT, loud talks from the bar area made the music area very noisy.
Many customers in the music area looked...More
We had a Sunday 19:00 slot at Mezzrow. Its an intimate basement that immediately takes your mind back to smoked filled rooms in black & white. There about 10 tables close to the stage, one almost sitting on the lap of the pianist. On the...More
Students get in for just $10, or you can go to the sister venue, Small's (just across the road), and use your ticket for free entry here for the rest of the night.
Small, intimate venue. Good selection of drinks.
MEZZROW is the companion club to Smalls, located on the east corner of 10th street and 7th ave. Opened in September of 2014, Mezzrow is a jazz piano room - a listening room and lounge in the heart of the historic district of Greenwich Village.
Make reservations and pay the extra to be seated in the "listening room". This room is a little smaller than many living rooms (the bars run behind this room). You'll end up only steps away from the performers. They've got an excellent piano down here,...More
We were referred to this venue by a club manager , down the street. There was a $20. Entry charge that also allowed us to enjoy another set at Small’s, a sister establishment.
Good choice for a quintessential Greenwich Village Jazz experience. Drink choices were...More
On a recent trip to New York we’d planned to go to Smalls jazz club but when we arrived we were told the current session was full. The doorman suggested we went to Mezzrow, their sister club 3 minutes away, as a ticket for Mezzrow...More
Good acoustics despite the rather confidential small size of this great jazz club.
Usually excellent music, always perfect welcome and service. Last but not least : drinks and snacks are more than affordable.
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you
stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
If you see a show at Mezzrow, they offer you a voucher to get into Small's for free later that night Mezzrow ends earlier and Small's continues until late. They are a class act, the owners. Very hospitable to all.

There are two parts to the venue - the bar area and the seating area. The seating area, which has a cover charge, is a small room where the performance takes place, and where you can get table service. The bar area is either free or there is a much reduce cover, depending on the performer. The bar area does not have good views and there is much conversation. I suggest a rez for the table room, but if the show is not sold-out, you can purchase the cover at time of show.
