Urban Manta's private scuba lessons were exceptional. Instructor Sandra's expertise made learning easy, and the personalized approach ensured I felt confident underwater. A top-notch experience, highly recommended for anyone diving into the world of scuba!

I'm an avid scuba diver and dive master but wanted to get some coaching from someone who is well versed in doubles, re breathers and who has been all over the world diving. Sandra helped me move some gear around and when we got in the water I felt so much better and we practiced a few tasks and it was extremely helpful.

My friend wanted to get certified in Manhattan and asked me to recommend someone and I knew Urban Manta from my scuba club. he is now a certified diver and was extremely happy with the level of professionalism that Sandra gave him. I also took some coaching from Sandra and I am very happy and plan to work with her again very soon. She is extremely passionate about diving and it shows. She also gave my friend a really good deal on equipment to get him started in the hobby.

Recently completed my Nitrox certification with Sandra. She was very thorough and quizzed me along the way. It really helps with my confidence in diving.
In July, Sandra took me to Dutch Springs, and did not discourage me when I wanted to do both my dry suit and rescue dive certifications together. It was challenging! But Sandra made it fun. She is a very thorough instructor, and I really appreciate all the 1-on-1 tailoring she did for me!

If you are looking for a thorough, knowledgable instructor for all of your scuba certifications then look no further. Sandra provides the knowledge and training feedback in a positive manner, often times with video review, while also offering suggestions on how to improve one’s kit and become a better scuba diver overall. I particularly like the personalized small to private group training she offers!

I met Sandra when I took her Fin Kick Techniques class which really helped me improve my overall trim, buoyancy control and propulsion in the water. Since then, I've completed Double Sidemount training with her and am close to finishing my Dive Master course as well. I went from being a fair vacation diver to being a much improved Technical diver in 2 months and will soon be a dive professional under Sandra's tutelage. She is thorough, meticulous, extremely knowledgeable and experienced- she has dived all over the world and continues her own training regularly which is immensely beneficial to us students. But she is NOT a morning person 😂

I met Sandra while she was teaching Intro to Tech class at Dutch Springs a few weeks ago. I was invited to dive with the class to see some skill demonstrations to see what I have to look forward to when I progress in my dive training. Her focus on proper trim, buoyancy control, and buddy awareness took priority over any skill execution and if any three were lost, to stop, regain control and start the skill over. Sandra’s “no knees” training on even complicated skills such as slinging pony bottles was very methodical and showcases her cave country training background.
I just completed dry-suit and wreck diver this past weekend with Sandra and she was very thorough at explaining the pros and cons on each suit type depending on dive scenario as well as how to properly manage the bubble in the suit. I learned how to change my own neck and wrist seals on two type of suits as well as common mistakes that can damage one over time with bad habits. I felt very controlled in the water in the new suits and was challenged to work on proper kicks with borrowed fins to become a better technical diver and reduce bubble movement.
My favorite part of the wreck diver course was learning how to run a reel with primary and secondary tie off points depending on what part of the world we are in. Sandra showed us how to lead and follow the reel properly as a team in the event of a blackout condition and the importance of buddy awareness the entire time. I highly recommend Sandra who is very knowledgeable on many gear configurations. Expect long days of training and last ones out of gate since the on-land portion is very in depth before getting in the water.
I look forward to future training with Sandra and learning doubles and sidemount configurations.

I did a dry-suit certification with Sandra at Urban Manta and had a great experience. She is truly a professional and pays attention to detail and safety, making sure I retained all the necessary information. I’m not the most comfortable person underwater but felt at ease with her. Highly recommended!
