Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. We were in the first and second rows for Monday Night Magic and watched very closely. Amazingly deft magicians who sure fooled us. There were three magicians plus the impresario and during intermission a choice of two others. It was very entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable.
We will definitely repeat our visit. Highly recommended.

This is one of the best shows I have seen in a long time. The performers were all so amazing with their magic and also so funny, true entertainers. The actual theatre is really run down, but once the show starts you forget your are in a run down old building sitting in folding chairs. I would 100% recommend this to everyone.

What a surprise this was! I can't believe it's been going on every Monday night for 25 years, only blocks from my home! I'm looking forward to going back, and bringing friends. Each of the magicians was terrific in his own individual way; each had a distinctive personality and style that made the whole show varied and fun. Even though the audience was fairly small, the rapturous, admiring response and applause made it feel like the house was full. BRAVO!

I went to see the show this past Monday. I saw 3 magicians and a mentalist (Ryan Kane, Noah Levine, Mike Patrick and Jason Suran (the mentalist).
All were jaw dropping amazing. The magic ranged from card tricks and rope tricks to a really realy amazing Rubik's cube trick and pulling a wine bottle out of thin air. The mentalist was top notch. He had a great way about him and he explained a lot about himself and his history in the art. The show was 2 hours long and I was wowed the whole time.
I'm a local and will heading back and bringing friends .... and given that they mix up the magicians for each show, there will always be something new.
The theater is old and filled with charm! It's a small theater so all seats are good.

Really excellent experience-- of NYC, of good entertainment. Saw two Broadway shows, this was better than both. The headliner, Master Magician Chris Capehart, was a superb performer, equally good comedian as he was a magician. All ages were totally enthralled, everyone left high on the occasion. This is a sure thing.

I came to my first (definitely not my last MNM) a few weeks ago with my family, including my grandfather (who's also a magician). I really didn't know what to expect being that I haven't been to a magic show in years. It was great. The host and all the performers were extremely entertaining, and funny save for Lina Liu, who was mesmerizing. Her performance with the umbrellas was an interesting start to a magic show, and I found her skills incredibly impressive! I also liked that her performances offered some variety to the night.
Her, along with Michael Chaut and David Corsaro all have incredible stage presence.
My favorite part of the nigh, was probably when the host had everyone type numbers onto his phone calculator, without looking, then give him different numbers to add up and multiply, and when he calculated it all, the sum came out to be the numbers of the exact time, the date, and the year. I was floored.
I had such a good time that night. I highly recommend this, and I'll be returning soon.

The show was great. I have seen shows before and was still astounded. I deducted one point due to the theater and the headliner. The seats are tight and uncomfortable. The headliner, Harrison Greenbaum, is very talented as both a comic and a magician, but I would have liked to see more magic and less comedy. The others on the bill, Jeremy Mikaelson and Adrian LaCroix were really good. the cast changes each week and I would like to attend again.

From the cool location in The Village, to the hidden gem of a theatre (every seat is a great view) to the cast of performers who really come to entertain, this is a great show for the whole family. There really is something for everyone. You never know what you're going to get, but you know it'll be fun and mind-blowing. See it once and you'll be back for more.

I've attended multiple times. It's a perfect Monday night in the city ( not much theatre on Monday nights) especially when you have guests.
The format promises a variety of magical skills as there are 3 acts each night. And to top that off - at the intermission 2 or 3 different magicians perform up-close tricks. One is the front of the house, one 3/4 of the way back, and one is in the lobby. It makes for perfect evening's entertainment.

This show was great. New and more amazing spins on classic tricks. Amazing mentalist. Each week the show is different. Very family friendly. They do close up magic during the intermission. The location is accessible by many trains and there is plenty to do before and after the show. I will return again soon with friends.

Yes and yes. We have a concessions counter that has candy, cookies, soda, water, and wine available.
We have also arranged for our audience members to get special discounts at some of our local restaurants. Mention Monday Night Magic and receive a discount! This offer is only available on the evening of the show.
Here's how it works: Come to the theater 90 minutes prior to the show, pick up your ticket(s). Go to any of the participating restaurants - show them your tickets and enjoy your meal at a discount.
For a list of current restaurants that offer discounts, visit the Monday Night Magic website and look under "Discounts."

To answer your question ...
As you noted, we are primarily a show geared for adults. The show is at night and all of our literature (including our 24-hour hotline) says that the show is not recommended for children under 12. Truthfully though, with this policy we are really trying to dissuade people from bringing difficult or squirmy kids.
While it is true that we have had over 350 different performers in the last 19+ years (and I must admit it is difficult to keep a rein on them all or their sense of humor), typically, if "adult" humor is used, it usually goes right over kid's heads.
That said, I can tell you as a performer, you never really quite know what is going to happen (or what may blurt out) on any given night. I'd be lying if I didn't tell you that there has been the rare occasion when specific performers had wished that they hadn't said a particular line (unless of course, it was really funny!).
For the most part, however, I believe the show is "G" rated. If a child really loves magic, they typically will have an incredible time at MNM.
I hope that answers your question? Let me know if I can offer any other help.
Best regards,
MICHAEL
P.S. Here's a tip for you ...
The most cost effective way to buy tickets for Monday Night Magic is to purchase them through Brown Paper Tickets ... the service charges are greatly reduced and included in the ticket price.

Is there a seat map for the theater? Not sure how to judge which kind of ticket to purchase.

I am one of the producers of Monday Night Magic.
There is a seating chart for the show which is available from our production office (feel free to call us at 718-575-1349 for a copy). If you prefer, you can look for us on Brown Paper Tickets - just search for Monday Night Magic.
I will also describe the seating that the theater offers here:
There is one aisle down the center with seating on both sides of the aisle. There are 19 rows in the theater with three different categories of seats. The first two rows are "VIP" seats (these are the best seats in the theater). The next four rows are our "premium" seats (the second best category in which to sit). Our regular seats are rows six through nineteen.
All seats have unobstructed views of the stage. In my humble opinion, the closer you are to the stage, the more fun you will have. That said, one of the previous reviewers did point out that people sit in the back every week and they always enjoy the show.
If you have any specific seating questions, please feel free to call us at 718-575-1349.
