I visited this cheese shop because I read that it is the oldest in the US - established in 1892. I had a lovely experience. The service was so friendly and helpful. I asked for recommendations and was advised to get the ricotta and the truffle cheese. Both were delicious.

If you are Italian and look for good Italian product stay away from this place! They don't have prices on some of the product and you are never sure what are going to charge. They have expired products on the shelf. I asked for half pound of prosciutto and got one pound. It was overpriced and very bad quality. Very disappointed. …

The mozzarella was just as big, juicy, and delectable as it was in the mid-Sixties, and the Arancino was huge, meaty, and lip-smacking delicious. The staff was magnificently friendly, the selection of Italian goodies extremely thorough, and all that was missing was a Time Machine to go back to that earlier and more innocent age... Sigh...…

Stumbled across this gem of a store while exploring the neighborhood. They were so friendly & helpful! We tried the cheese-stuffed peppers & the prosciutto wrapped in mozzarella - so delicious! We were disappointed that we were unable to purchase things to take home as we were leaving the country but we were given a card so that we could call and place an order.…
