"The best thing to ever happen to the theater" Slate Magazine "A live action Drunk History" TimeOut Magazine "Zany, rowdy and debaucherous" New York Times. One actor has 5 shots of whiskey and then the show begins... ANYTHING. COULD. HAPPEN. There is a hidden library on the 2nd Floor of a building on 47th and 8th. With over 15,000 books, The Drunk Shakespeare Society meets every night to drink... and perhaps do a little Shakespeare. A mysterious bartender serves cocktails through a 10-foot high bookcase made entirely of black books. 100 prized novels are forever buried in an amber fluid in front of a royal throne. Other easter eggs are hidden throughout the room... Running Time: 90 minutes. Food & drink available. 21+ only. Photo ID required.

Laughing really hard with 100+ strangers in an off-broadway theater was absolutely wonderful for my 70 year-old father and I who are both fans of Shakespeare and humor without boundaries. Macbeth was the play when we went and it was absolutely fun! The performers are...More

This show was a total and complete waste of time and money, It was not remotely funny or amusing and the best thing about it was there was no intermission and it only lasted 90 minutes.

It's a great time with a fun, witty, smart show done by excellent performers. It's a little unexpected and a lot risque!

Fantastic romp that starts with an “initiation shot” for each guest. The performers are professionals - don’t try this at home - who manage great Shakespeare and great comedic performances in the midst of alcohol induced insanity. They more or less do one of Shakespeare’s...More

I could see my friends and me doing this in our *salons*, only we’re not as freakin’ talented. So so so so funny. True legit monologues mixed with improv slapstick knock knock jokes (and one mooning incident) and folk on stage breaking character plenty, and...More

Free drink upon arrival. Canned, but funny, Drunk humor. Actors combine Shakespeare with drunken humor and modern pop culture references. It’s a fun 90 minutes.

Hilarious play, delicious cocktails, and free shots. All 5 actors in the play were not only very funny, but were also able to deliver a great dramatic performance (even while drunk). 10/10 better than Despacito

absolutely. being familiar with Shakespeare informs the show and adds another layer, but it's a great performance either way.
