Not sure what the hype is. Booked the Vinyasa Flow class but it should have been called a very basic beginner's class. Instruction was so 101 and slow that it was barely a flow. I got more exercise biking the 12 miles round trip to Central Park. Sheep's Meadow was blanketed in complete shade by 5:30pm so be prepared to be quite cold. Yoga on the grass seemed fine in concept but it's actually not as good as a hard floor surface and there is geese poop everywhere. Overall, class was unsatisfying so will not book again.

Hi Chrissie, I'm sorry to hear you didn't find the experience satisfying. We offer a Vinyasa Flow that can be suitable for every body with focus on safety, correct alignment, conscious breathing, and ultimately inclusion, welcoming both beginners and advanced practitioners like yourself, who are welcome to add any modifications they are used to in their own practice. We also do believe yoga asanas are a tool to calm the mind in preparation for meditation. We don't consider it a workout. Practicing outside in a park is definitely different from the controlled environment of a yoga studio. We are in Nature with no artificial lights, no heating system, no hard floors, and no exclusivity of the use of the lawn, which we share also with other animals. We do enjoy the gentle turning of the day into dusk, the fresh air away from traffic, the coziness of a sweatshirt, and ultimately the connection with the grass and Mother Earth. But we are all different and you're feelings are totally valid. Thanks for the feedback, Silvia

Hadn't practiced group yoga in several months because of COVID. Feeling my bare feet on the grass and being forced to do those challenging poses felt AMAZING!! Loved the class and signed up for several more immediately after it. Thanks Yoga Trail!

Mark happens to be one of my favorite instructors. He's kind, understanding, and I really enjoy the benefits of his style yoga. He holds poses a bit longer to get the most out of each pose and keeps a slow pace with lots of variations for all levels. The class has more than enough space to keep everyone at a social distance and everyone is respectful about wearing masks before and after class. Feels good to get out again!

This is the perfect yoga class for all skill levels. Yoga Ranger Mark was a phenomenal guide during the practice, with multiple levels of adjustment provided. I felt confident in my practice and had such a pleasant afternoon despite 90 degree heat on a summer afternoon. I would highly recommend even if you're just a beginner, as the atmosphere in Central Park with a view of the city skyline makes this a must do for tourists and locals alike.
