Address
Neighborhood: Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
How to get there
  • West 4th St – Washington Square • 2 min walk
  • Christopher St – Sheridan Square • 4 min walk

A half circle would be more appropriate…with the cafe half full, I waited 7 minutes to be seated, sat for 15 minutes at a dirty table before apparently becoming visible; received a pastry five minutes ago, and still await the coffee. This place is a joke.

Could not have found a more perfect spot to warm up last Sunday during out tour of Greenwich Village. Large variety of coffee, tea and delicious pastries. Take it to go or relax in the their atrium room (social distance set-up). Their pistachio cannoli was THE BEST!! Great customer service! Enjoy!!

Old world Italian bakery in the heart of SoHo. Fond memories of sharing cannoli here after church with my father at Our Lady of Pompei next door. Delicious pastries, cookies, and cake.

We came pretty late just to be told that place is about to close and we can't be served by waiter. We ordered cannolli and espresso and sat on the side waiting for food to be done. Once done, we took our food ourselves and was about to leave when waiter approached us and start telling at us that we are rude and should have waited to be seated and leave the tip.. now, he is without the tip.. the problem is that we were told that the place is closing and were instructed to take food to go... Cannolli was nothing special , espresso was good.. I would not recommend this place to anyone.. very rude...

I was told to pick up some of Rocco's cookies when I was downtown, so I did.
They had a huge assortment, and it was very busy (a good sign that the baked goods move and stay fresh.)
I picked up two pounds. I've had Italian cookies my whole life and they are ok, even in Italy, but not spectacular.
At Rocco's I became a true believer. These really were unlike ANY Italian cookies I've ever tasted. Fresh, not too sweet, each cookie with its own distinct flavor. In comparison, every Italian cookie I'd ever had before seemed stale. Seriously. The two pounds disappeared. They were delicious--really. I offered them to everyone I saw, including two police officers. Everyone thought they were absolutely delicious.
I am not a dessert person. Really, except for tiramisu. I really look forward to another batch of these 5 star cookies. And the people who worked there were really friendly and helpful, too.

Anytime we visit NYC, we make time to go to Rocco's for an assortment of what are among the best pastries in NYC.....grab a table, order some coffee, and order a selection to share around the table! Making a decision will be really hard - our favorites include the cannoli (with both chocolate chips and pistachio nuts), napoleon, and the eclair's....but really, it's all good. Be sure to grab some cookies on your way out - they make the best rainbow cookies in town!

We were here for dessert and coffee one day...and went back for lunch two days later because is was so good. The people here were very friendly..the food was delicious. The "lobster tails" pastry is the best pastry in the world! The lobster tail pastry is crispy pastry around cream center and looks like a big lobster tail-delicious. We even bought a 2lb box of Christmas cookies to bring back home with us on the plane.

Try this place when you're in the SoHo area after shopping...or after walking up from world trade center memorial (long walk). We found it the first day after going to Bleecker Street Pizza (greatest pizza) just down the road.

this is now my favorite bakery...we will go again. Its lucky I don't live in NYC or I'd be eating Bleecker street pizza and a lobster tail everyday.

Who doesn’t love sweets?! Rocco’s is so much more than great desserts, though. It feels like coming home. The service is great; the sweets are delicious and the vibe is authentic, pure hospitality.

This place is great, I've been coming here for years. They have all the traditional Italian style pastries and butter cookies but I always come for a slice of chocolate mousse and my wife enjoys their strawberry shortcake. They have a nice little garden area in the back or grab a table up front and relax.

If you're on a budget do this, order a slice of cake or a "square" that's what they call it for take-out which will cost around $3-4 this is what I usually do. After they box your cake you can then walk to "Father Demo Square" which is a clean small park with a beautiful water fountain in the center. To get there just walk down the block towards Sixth Avenue on Bleecker Street approx 500 ft. There you can sit on a park bench and eat, people watch and relax. One last last tip, don't go there when they're getting ready to close which is around 11:30 all the waiters and workers are tired and cranky. Oh, I forgot the cannoli are to die for!
