This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

This place was okay. A little expensive for what it is and kind of small. Ultimately nice. I prefer and aire vibe or even spa 57 but this place is solid I suppose. It;s also 24hours which I guess is cool.

We were in NYC for a weekend trip and decided to spend a few hours after dinner at Juvenex to soak as a couple. It was our first visit to Juvenex.
The entry from the street looked a little sketchy but its NY, everything can look sketchy at night. We went up the elevator to the fifth floor past an apparent karaoke club a level below. When the elevator doors opened, it was like we were transported to another place. The appearance of the spa was very nice. We were greeted warmly by the receptionists who i believe were Russian. We requested the jade journey and payed upfront. The prices were a little expensive but not unreasonable. We were then told to take off our shoes and don these hard plastic slippers. Then we were each lead to separate male and female changing areas. The male area really wasn't private with only a small movable screen to separate the locker area and the main spa and the back wall was only a half wall, but we frequent spas all over the world and are used to spa nudity. The female area was in a closed room. Each area had lockers with combination locks you set.
They required a bathing suit during coed times and they do provide suits for men and women but we brought our own. The swim wear supplied to the men were these long black boxers that were very baggy on most guys. The women had a two piece black tube top and very unflattering briefs. We wore a small sheer thong bikini and a sheer speedo with the expectation that if that was too risque that we would put on the supplied swimsuits but no one said a word. We would have preferred to not wear any suits but rules are rules i guess.
After changing, we were shown the spa area. It is fairly small but had a good use of space. The receptionist gave us an idea of what to start with and each a glass of fruit water. Then we were set to ourselves.
The spa consists of a hot dry sauna, hot wet sauna, three soaking pools (one cold, one warm, one hot). A room temp clay room (great for napping) a open cold rain shower by the wet sauna, and a row of open showers near the soaking pools. Next to the wet sauna is also where they do the body scrubs which we didn't partake in. We did see a few couple go in and heard the scrubbing and rinsing, sounded intense. And they offer massages but we weren't sure where they did those. There was also a private soaking tub that we saw one couple use.
We hopped in and out of all the saunas and pools but spent the most time soaking in the warm lemon pool. The dry and wet saunas very very hot, as they should be. We would go from one to the showers then to the other.
Overall it was a very relaxing experience, the facility was clean. And they cleaned nonstop. The tubs were emptied and filled while we were there. The towels and robes provided were nice, even though we didn't really use them much. Most of the people there at the time were couples. We didn't see any single guys. We will definitely visit Juvenex again on our next trip. We only wish that they would just drop the suit required rule. We would have given it five stars if it was clothing optional. We might even try the body scrub next visit.

I first went to Juvenex in August 2011 a week before my wedding with friends and family. I had the spa package that included the bath and full body scrub. To beat the bridal blues I also had a full body massage. We ladies had an excellent experience. The scrub was invigorating and refreshing. And the body massage was one of the best I have ever had. Recently, I went with my husband for my birthday. We purchased the couples package with the massage. The services began with a romantic spa bath in a jacuzzi, followed by a couples full body massage. The greatest part of the spa experience there is the access to the other spa services. The steam and sauna are wonderful. They also offer tea, lemon or cucumber water as well as fresh cut pineapple or green melon. The fruit is always very fresh and tasty. I also got a mani/pedi and it lasted for forever without chipping. I highly recommend Juvenex! It is not just a spa but an experience. A very relaxing and rejuvenating experience.

It would have been nice in all the "Wow! A 24 hour spa!" reviews if it warned us this was in a bad section of New York just south of Macys, that once inside a dingy hallway with a single elevator we would have to travel to every floor to find it (strange unadvertised club on floor 2, karaoke on 3 and 4) that the hall door to the stairwell would be jacked wide open, that the dulcet tones of bad karaoke would permeate every room, that the "jade journey" involved barely half full tubs of murky water and lighting so bad you couldn't see, and staff that was stunned we asked to see the place. We literally ran away in fear before getting treatments. Their website is completely misleading - this place is tiny, dark, and frightening.

Of all my 5 years going to juvenex spa, I was never so ill treated. Their facility and the facial treatment by kim are always fantastic, however the Russian manager who works in the front desk was horrible. Her greeting turn into a debate over 35dollars that is added with other services if you also wants to use the facilities. I care less about the cost as long as I get the relaxation. That's why people go to spas, not to argue. She became aggressive. I ended up paying for my express facial and using the facility for 20 mins or so as I always have. Finally what made it worst was she made a comment in front of me in Russian to another russian staff. Never did I felt so offended and disempowered. That is a cowardly act. I don't think anything will be done about it. She seems to be the only one that speaks fluent English there. I am very disappointed. I could not imagine being treated this way especially at korean spas who are known for their quality customer service. I tried to complained but it's pretty obvious the owner is not going to do anything about it. After made aware, no action was done. I go there and have always refer my friends there. I'll think twice before I'll go there again.

I was traveling in NYC and needed to kill some time. So, I was near this spa. It is in the Korean part of the city and has a strange store front entrance. Up an elevator, down one, to a small area, included a locker room, sauna and steam room. That would have been two stars, but the body scrub was best I have every had, thank you, Joy. The wet room, great scrub, whole body, and wash hair, then shower in the same room. It was great!

This place is disgusting. They were roaches everywhere (we saw 6) in the spa region, and they could only cough up a partial refund.

My husband and I found a good review of Juvenex in a New York Guide Book and decided to give it a go after a week of city walking. It was such a good decision.
From the outside and the communal corridor, you might think you'd come to the wrong place and we were indeed tempted to turn around. However, you take the lift to the 5th floor and it's like stepping out of the city and into another world. It was so serene and relaxing.
We were booked in for a reflexology massage each but upon seeing the spa I decided to ask how much that would cost. The receptionist told us it was an additional $35 each but that she would throw it in for free. She gave us disposable swimming costumes, towels, robes and slippers and showed us around. We were free to use all of the facilities. After changing, the receptionist offered us fresh fruit and a drink - even champagne!
Then we had our massage - which was like a mixture of Thai and Reflexology...worked wonders on our tired feet and legs and even involved and short head and shoulder massage! Absolutely fantastic!
We tipped at the end but later realised (after reading guidance in our travel book) that we had probably been a bit stingy, so I'm hoping this review will encourage more people to go there and increase their business.
Escape the city for a couple of hours...you won't regret it!

I'm a spa-going conossieur, so I have above average expectations.
I wanted to give this spa a try because I'm always looking for a different experience. This is a little too different.
The website is misleading -this place is dark and moldy. I had to shower after my shower - everything I touched had a faint tinge of mold.
There is karaoke music from downstairs blares through every room - not exactly relaxing.
And there were 2 bachelorette parties hanging out - not serene.
I'd pass on this one.

I went in for a 1 hour massage which was about $100. They charged me $275 because I took a soak in theri lemon / rose baths. The attendant had lead me to the baths and told me to take a soak. They did not tell me that once you step into the boath that price goes up. The baths had old nwater and hair floating around. It was the worst spas I have ever been too.,

Hi, serlingj2000. What would you like to know about this attraction? Is this a place primarily for women or couples? Are there ample hot tubs for a single man to just relax and soak?
Is their public nudity ? locker rooms, suanas, pools? thank you

The spa during women's only times are clothing optional throughout the facility. During coed hours, suits are required by all. Though the definition of a swim suit is quite broad. The changing and locker areas are not very private and honestly we dont even know why they bother having a suit requirement during coed times. You get naked to change and to get a body scrub, there is nothing really dividing these spaces except for a thin sheet partition that doesnt really do much. Plus we have worn and seen suits there that really dont amount to much coverage if at all.

Do this spa do mixed nudity days? can't see on their website, seems a bit male unfriendly and sexist considering it offers everything to women and very little to men.

Washington DC, DC418 contributions
no, unfortunately. There really is no official mixed nude time. When it is coed, swimsuits are required. But if you reserve the private couples tub, you can be nude there with the door closed. If you get a body scrub, you and your partner are also nude during the scrub. There is also no male only times.

Read your review on the Juvenex spa, big help to me, as i am thinking of taking my wife there. can you tell me is it a full naturist spa, hot tubs sauna etc or just for the treatments like the body scrub or massage. Your help will be most useful.
