During our stay in NY, my girlfriend and I came to the shops at Columbus a few times, as the place offers a decent choice of food options, a supermarket, clothing shops and even a bookshop. In addition, I must add it has toilets which are not easy to come by in the city. While walking towards the upper west side the rain started pouring down and we managed to hide in here while visiting shops. Whether you are into shopping, only want to enjoy a cup of coffee or have to follow your partner in her shopping frenzy, you most likely won't get too bored here, considering there is also free internet access. Overall a good option for shopping in the area.

Still an upscale venue but there are more and more lower end retailers showing up. The restaurants on the other hand are terrific. For the first time I saw several vagrants hanging in the lobby. One of them a women was there from 10:30 AM until I returned for dinner at 6:30. This is becoming the norm in NYC.

We spent way more money than we intended, but the concentration of great shops in an enclosed building has great appeal in the New York winter! Most of the shops center around fashion but does range between athletic wear to more upscale-comfort clothing stores. Hodge podge of other stores that sale electronics, manicuring needs, etc. We didn’t do the restaurants or the on-site hotel; but it could be an interesting experience worth trying. Our favorite part about going to Columbus Circle during the winter holidays is the light up ornaments and Christmas carols that play periodically throughout the day. Unique and highly enjoyable.

The decorations in the mall were fun and we enjoyed outdoor market across the street but there wasn't anything in the chain stores that I could not buy somewhere else. Including Whole Foods.
