Entire view of city cant get better....Empire state is also at nice height but its always more crowded and hence this is preferred. The lift experience while going up is also awesome.

The views from the Top of the Rock are fantastic, especially on a clear day such as we had. You can see forever! The views take in the Empire State Building, Central Park, Hudson River, Brooklyn Bridge, and glimpses of the Chrysler Building. A must see if you are in New York

Just awesome. Best views on Manhattan and on the Empire State Building. Best time to do : for the sunset. Amazing when the whole city starts to light up.

Highly recommend this as a visit; we used our Citipass. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, and answered any user ions posed to them. Views from the top were staggering!

We were to visit one of the observatories in New York when we stopped outside the entrance and said this is it... We had lovely time. Visited at night and saw the beautiful site of New York with the millions of lights playing around...although there was a queue we didn't mind at all as we were watching the interesting film... Great expedition although a little pricey at nearly $100 for me and two sons. We were lucky and didn't have to deal with any line-ups. The experience and view from the top is worth the money and we will never forget the day.

If you're a fan of visiting the high buildings, this is also worth a visit. I personally like to visit one during the day, one at night and then the third at dusk. Dusk is when we visited Top of the Rock and visiting at that time meant that we were able to watch the lights of Manhattan, in particular... More

Top of the rock has an unbeatable location, as far as views are concerned. The North view spans Central Park. The South view unveils the Empire State, One World Trade Center and the Statue of Liberty. The Chrysler Building is hidden by Met Life building. Well, nothing is perfect.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
