This was my first visit to Top of the Rock. I usually always go to The Empire State Building but decided to skip it to go to Top of the Rock and I'm so glad I did. It was amazing. The line to get to the elevators was so much more pleasant than the ESB. The elevator ride was great... More

THIS was such a good decision over the Empire State Building. Such good views, amazingly high up, and wasn't super crowded. It was pretty hot, but they had air conditioned areas for you to take a break too. Highly highly recommend! We decided to do this over the Empire State building and had literally no wait to go to the... More

My friend and I came here on our last day in NYC. We aimed to be at the top for sunset (8:44) and were disappointed when it was all sold out when we were booking online. However; while actual sunset was sold out, we didnt realize (and I'm assuming many others didnt either was that getting to the top takes... More

If you are visiting NYC definitely give Top of the Rock a go! It gives you a wonderful view of the city and of the Empire State Building. Only takes a few minutes to get in once you pass security and on the way in you will see a short 4 minute video on the history of Rockefeller Centre. We... More

You should not miss "Top of the Rock": this gives you some spectacular and new views on the city, that never sleeps. This includes the Central Park impression as well as the view on the Empire State Building. Of course, it is quite busy and crowded. Nevertheless, we recommend the really impressive moment of a sunset to be enjoyed on... More

The Top of The Rock has the best view in New York. Each side offers a phenomenal view of the city, with Central Park to the north, and the Empire State Building to the south. Go at sunset to see the city in daylight, and then watch it light up after the sun goes down. There was hardly no wait... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
