First time visiting The Top f the Rock. It was absolutely beautiful. We went up top during the sunset time, it was cloudy that day but still well worth it. I highly recommend the sunset time, but buy your tickets in advance. Its different views...More

Great place to view the city. We could see forever and found helpful visitors and staff to enhance our visit. I highly recommend this viewing site. I did not do Empire State Building, but did this instead for similar view

Different views, well worth the time to go up and visit. Would have been better on a clear day. It was foggy and rainy.

We visited top of the rock at night time . This allows spectacular view of the Manhattan skyline , the view of The Empire State with the freedom tower and lower Manhattan is an image I will always remember.

Went at 8:00 pm so we could see the skyline at night!! It was one of favorite places we visited. Beautiful sky!! At that time of night it was not very crowded. We were able to go right up!!

Very unlikely I think. It tends to be very busy with big queues. The simple trip up and down takes about theee quarters of an hour without any queuing. I think it would be a big rush and stressful and unlikely you would... More

There were people using selfie sticks when we were there so as long as it's hand held and not needing to be put up in a space as a tripod would I would think it's ok but maybe try and call/ email them to check.

Yes, all done on the phone, via their website. And there’s no need to collect or print; you’ll get an e-ticket on your email with a QPR code which the staff scan at the door.

When to do what? (4 Replies)
OK, my wife and I have finally figured out what we want to do while in New York City on Friday and Saturday (November 21st and 22nd) and Sunday morning (November 23rd). We are flying out of Newark at 1:45 on Sunday afternoon. Since we really only have two full days in NYC, we want to make sure we make the best use of our time. I'll list below what we are wanting to do and then I'd like for you all to help me out with some sort of a schedule of when is the best time to do what. Top of...More

Okay here's a few suggestions; - Museum of Modern Art has free entrace on Friday (i think after 4:00) otherwise it is an automatic $25 dollars per person. - Top of the Rock is better and has shorter lines than theEmpire State building ..... some people say to go in the evening - Wall Street should been seen on Friday when they is some activity going on during business hours. Chinatown and Ground Zero should be grouped in the same day since they are all in the same general area. -...More

Do you have to pre book all sightseeing? (2 Replies)
I've finally bought all our internal flights for our stay in America. We will be in NYC from 25th June to 4th July. My husband said we have to pre purchase all our tickets for sightseeing, is this correct? or can we rock up on the day and just stand in line? is there an advantage to pre purchase? Some of the things we want to see are Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Top of the Rock, 9/11 museum, Intrepid, Museum of Natural History. We are a family of two adults, 11 year old...More

It is advisable to pre-book the Statue of LIberty, then you can go first thing in the AM and avoid some of the lines. If you want to actually enter the pedestal or climb to the crown it is ESSENTIAL that you pre-book. The 9/11 museum is brand new. Right now plenty of tickets are available but who knows. There are sections of the museum which are very very hard to look at. I read a news article that said one section is no admittance for under 11. Now, your daughter is older--but you need to...More

No - you do NOT want these either of these passes. While they may save a little money they waste a lot of time and insome cases prevent you from getting to the parts of the sights you want. For SoL you must get tickets direct from the official site - statuecruises.com - online far in advance. Crown tickets sell out at least 3 months in advance and Pedestal/Museum tickets sell out at least 3 weeks in advance. there is no pass that can get you these tickets. (You can trade the pass for a...More
