Meh.... If you want decent tips how about you be nice to your clientele
Sep 2021
After an afternoon of shopping on Bleeker street we stopped in for an afternoon drink. Bar looks incredible and all features are original. One of our party owns a bar and it's quite hard to disappoint drinkers with such a beautiful setting. But White Horse Tavern managed to make a potentially cool experience distinctly average. Only the plainly new staff were pleasant at all. The core staff could not have been more indifferent. I will try this place again, because I really want to like it. If people are going to drink we are going to talk and laugh. Don'y give us the stink eye for doing just that.

Super fun wedding after party!
Sep 2019
We hosted our Wedding After Party at White Horse Tavern in September 2019. Our wedding reception was at the nearby Battery Gardens, so this was a quick and easy walk for our guests! We love Irish pubs (and Irish music) and wanted a place that was casual and comfortable. It was so easy to coordinate with Frank, who reserved some bar space and tables for us; and Anita was a great bartender! We simply had a minimum bar tab, which was easy for everyone in our group to use. Since it was late and their kitchen was closed, we were able to bring pizza in to the bar for our group. It is such a warm and welcoming bar, it was the perfect way to end the night!

Great craic, fabulous value

What a great pub! No Ripoff charges, no push to eat food just because you're sitting down. $4 a full pint, $8 min everywhere else. Hop off your bus at Brooklyn Bridge, just a short walk and relax until whenever....

Great bar, food & drinks
Nov 2019 • Friends
Called here after a trip on the Statten Island Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty. It’s down a side street so I would say easily missed, so either as for directions or google map it. We sat at the bar and ate/ drank. Staff were very friendly, and the beers cheapest we’ve had so far. At lunch (weekdays only I think?) you can get a burger (came with fries) and a beer for $10, which was great value.

Lunch time visit
Oct 2019 • Friends
My brother and I went in for a bite to eat at lunch time. For the location it is a great priced place. We ordered a couple sandwiches and drinks. The drinks arrived promptly but the food did not. The waitress forgot to put the order in. When it arrived it was well worth it. I had the Cuban sandwich and it was great. The waitress was very apologetic and made a point to chat with us, we weren’t in any hurry so it was no big deal.

Cozy pub, great food and drink!
Oct 2019
Classic pub atmosphere, which I love. Noticing other reviews, yes, it can be noisy and maybe not the best place to bring your kids, but it does have TAVERN in the name. I found it charming, with a friendly, Irish bartender! The food was delicious. I got a regular burger and it was great. My husband ordered wings, delicious!! Also their onion rings are really delicious. Don't hesitate!

Excellent Cheeseburger
Aug 2019 • Couples
This part of NYC has few places to sit and have lunch. The White Horse Tavern was a good spot to sit and have lunch. The staff was friendly. We had the deluxe cheeseburger and fries. The hamburger was cooked to our specifications and the french fries were fresh and hot. The price was very reasonable. I would eat here again.

Good watering hole and bar grub, but not the best for families
Jun 2019 • Family
Grabbed dinner here Sat. June 15 after Statue of Liberty Cruise. Tom the bartender, also had to bus the tables and serve as waiter for the entire establishment. He was short and curt but I understand he had his hands full. They appeared to be short staffed.
We did heavy appetizers. The wings were the worst. They were like Tyson breaded frozen wings that are saturated in hot sauce. The breaded mozzarella was fine but the sauce was watery, the sliders were slightly overcooked, but everything came out quickly and accompanies by delicious pickles. The sweet potato fries were a hit.

Reasonable price bar
Mar 2019 • Friends
After work hours for Happy Hour was desired for day's end wash out. After reading all the reviews of their Happy Hour it was a opportunity not to be missed. I decided on Cupcake Prosecco $8 (Italy). Customer service is not attentive albeit it was moderately packed for a Thursday evening. Atmosphere contains boisterously loud background music as it can be heard outside by the entrance door. White Horse is a dive bar in the Financial District of Downtown Manhattan where many white collar workers flock here to alleviate workplace stress and pressure.

used to eat there every payday
Dec 2018 • Friends
This place has been around for eons. I used to eat there every pay day in the 60's. Went there a few months ago,I stop by every now and then. The beer and drinks are not Manhattan expensive. The food is much better than bar food and really not than expensive. This place has been in business since the 1880;s . So you wouldn't say it's a fly by night joint. Go ahead stop in if you're going to the Statue of Liberty,or THE WTC memorial.you can't go wrong.
