New York Landmark

This is a good place to visit if you want to start the day with breakfast and also take a visit in the busy deli next door. Certainly worth a visit.

The best selection of cheese, olives, bread, prepared food ... I have ever seen. And its all good. A large grocery store specializing in high end food items. For example more than 100 cheese types and 25 different olives, pickles and peppers. I got a container of dill pickles with fresh dill in the container. The best! I get their... More

Guidebook recommendations regarding the quality of Zabar's bagels are spot on - they are delicious and have very generous fillings. Don't be put off by the fact that the various bagel offerings are pre-made because they are very fresh and suitably chilled. Prices are very reasonable and I can heartily recommend the frozen yoghurt - brilliant! One negative prevents me... More

o.k. If you want "decent" bagels or salmon you can get it here but honestly, the price for the salmon isn't that great and you can get a better selection at Fairway down the street. You can get better bagels at the bagel shop on 98th and Broadway. There are no organic coffees or produce (which is minimal anyway). They... More

Had this place recommended to me. The croissants were nice & fresh. The latkes were horrible - like rubber once they were reheated. The bloke behind the register has no idea about customer service. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Crowded, chaotic, interesting slice of NY life with a huge variety of stuff on offer. Picked up a treasure trove of stuff for lunch in Central Park. They have plastic cutlery to pick up by the checkouts if you need it.

Wanted to go to this great store to bring stuff back home to our friends. We used to live on the Upper West Side so we know it well. You can't go wrong with anything you buy there. But one caveat: Dear Check Out People: Try actually acknowledging your customers. Visitors will remember your demeanor far more than what they... More

Came here from breakfast one morning and the bagel was delicious and so cheap. Sat inside, not loads of seating but we didnt have to wait long for a psace to become available. Order the food at the counter and then either take away or eat in. Would go back without a doubt, great new york casual breaskfast. Also enjoyed... More

This store has a lot of different things inside. I went there about an hour before closing looking for a dessert to take home. They have a large selection of pastries, pastas, meats, and breads.

a wonderful selection of everything deli. Best is hand cut smoked fish-Ariel was a superb customer service agent ! there are cheeses, sausages, candy ,sauces, olive oils etc galore. Only poorer part is the breads , bagel and bialys a bit leaden and not classically made. Worth a trip just to see what is there. Not cheap but worth every... More
