A Great Market

Fantastic seeded rye bread and bagels plus nearly anything else you need to buy. Worth a trip just to look around.

Overcrowded place with fair amount of choices but terrible service . There are much better choices in NYC to grab something to eat

If I lived anywhere near Zabars I would be poor and fat. It's an expensive place but full of top quality food from cheeses to meat to coffee. It's great to go in and have a wander round even if you are a tourist and can't take any of the fresh stuff home. When I was staying at my cousins... More

We felt compelled to eat something at Zabar's because it is a NYC institution. The carry-out area didn't have much seating (it was hard for people to get a stroller in and out) and the food was very average. We did have a celebrity sighting inside but we would probably not choose to eat here again.

A wonderful deli that we have visited many times over the last 30 years. It has an extraordinary range of deli products and also a great array of quirky household products on the upper floor. However it may be that its popularity has led to a lowering of quality in its prepared foods as we bought a bagel with smoked... More

It's beyond difficult to rate, in my opinion, the best deli/food emporium in the world. I've frequented Zabars for many decades for everything from caviar, smoked salmon, cheeses, prepared foods, coffee, and numerous other delights. It's really hard to compare Zabars to any other store of its type. Even though crowded, the employees have always treated me with respect and... More

I went here with another person and we were very excited to finally try the Zabars' bagels. I asked for a simple "latte", but with Almond milk (no cow's milk but almond). The girl had very hard time to understrand what I were saying. Considering that I am Italian, I thought is it maybe my accent, but there were two... More

No trip to New York is complete without a stop at Zabars. From amazing cheeses and freshly sliced lox to an outstanding variety of breads and coffee, Zabars has been a favorite of mine for 50 years. My mom had one of the first house accounts there.

I love shopping in Zabar's. First, they carry anything you look for! Many local items and all kinds of delicious products from all over the world. Their deli is extensive and the variety of foods is wonderful. Going into the store or standing in line for the cashier - I keep on remembering the many cool movie scenes which were... More

This deli/ coffee shop is fantastic. The deli is unbelievable. I have never seen such a selection of cheeses in all my life! The coffee ship is hectic, small and great! It is an amazing place as it is used by real New Yorkers and they are friendly and chatty. Please visit there if you visit New York it is... More
