    Roller Rink in Warm Weather
Roller skating in the spring! Yes, they convert the ice skating rink to roller and then play roller disco, which I love, on the sound system. Such fun and the crowd loves it. Plus lots of rainbow flags for June, looks great. One of the best urban design places in the city.
We love this review! Thank you for taking the time to write it and we hope you visit us again soon.

An Iconic Skate But Pricey and Brief
Came over to Rockefeller Center an an early weekday to skate on the Famed Rockefeller Center Rink. Although I am a native New York, I think the last time I skated on this Rink was back in my twenties. Things to know, you cannot buy tickets at the Rink. First, you must buy them in advance on the website and you must pay for skate rentals the same way. Second, you can only arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled skate time. So, give yourself enough time to get skates (if you need them) and lace up, get a locker and get out on the ice. Third, you DO NOT NEED A LOCK. Lockers are provided with the skating admission and you set your own code as you lock the door. Nice convenience! There are several downsides. One is the price. On a weekday morning, the cost was $46 per person with $11 skate rental per person. It is more expensive on the weekends and at night. Also, you can only skate for 1 hour. You get a sticker with you time slot and when you time is up, there is an announcement that anyone with such and such colored ticket must exit the rink. (Jimmy Fallon was the recorded announcer when we were there) Finally, the ice. It's a small rink. Smaller than Bryant Park and Wollman Rink. Also, I don't know when they Zamboni the ice but it was not Zamboni'd for some time before we got on the ice, after we got off the ice and for some time as we walked around Rock Center watching others skate. During the Christmas Season, it is a great Holiday event, but choose your time and date wisely, if you can.
This is great advice for out of town visitors. Thank you for taking the time and we hope to welcome you back soon!

Nice excursion, but needs an upgrade overall
The service is poor, the skates hurt so much, and the rink is small. I would try the VIP Route next time though. We did enjoy skating around the rink, even in the light rain. The entire place needs an upgrade in quality and experience though.
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We apologize for the discomfort you experienced with the skates and the size of the rink. We are constantly working towards improving the quality and experience for all our guests. We hope to see you again to provide you with a better skating experience.

I decided to take a trip to NYC with my two children from Ireland, as they’d never seen the most famous tree in the world or the city at Christmas. We’ve visited many times and have been to most of the sights but I figured it would be nice to go skating on our last night.

I booked a late session so that it wouldn’t be too busy and it was really very quiet. Unsurprising - it cost $146 😂

I know that it’s a special place but given the price there’s no excuse for the awful changing room - it’s tiny. Or the blunt, wrecked skates. When we handed in our shoes to be stored, the guy working told us that it was ‘free to store the shoes, but there’s a tip jar just there’. I literally burst out laughing 😆

My daughters were too cold after about fifteen minutes ..... sigh.

First point to clarify: there is no ice in it at the moment and it has morphed into a roller-skating rink.

Second point to clarify is that we didn't do any form of skating there.

However, it is definitely worth a look at the place and, if you have the time, you may want to have a sit down and watch other people being energetic. I find it cheers me up no end.

The golden statue overseeing proceedings is monumentally proportioned.

All in all, a great place to visit and/or lose some calories at.

The Rink at Rockefeller Center is an iconic venue in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. The ice rink was founded in 1936 and opens every year during the winter season. It is in an incredible position within the Rockefeller Center complex. Whenever we were in the area of the rink it was always busy, unfortunately we didn't have the time to skate on the rink on our latest visit to New York. It is one of the highlights of the city and is situated between West 49th and West 50th Streets and a short walk from Times Square.

Please think about other places to have your sharing experience as The Rink is not worth the money.

Our experience as a family was horrible, let’s start with the que, long and unmanageable, no efficiency in place to distinguish between the thousands trying to see the tree and those trying to get to the rink.

Check-in, we were greeted by 3 young adults having a private conversation that didn’t stop, we were give 3 stickers and that was it, I had to ask what they were for, where to go and what to do next, terrible customer service, actually there was no customer service to mention

Locker room, chaotic , that’s the one word to describe it, however they do have free lockers to store your shoes and small personal belongings which was very handy

Ice, oh man where do you start with that, for anyone who does skate you’ll find the rental blades are horrific and the ice is unmanaged very similar to skating on a natural ice surface, we managed to skate for around 15 mins before it became too ruff.

So, for us as a family of 3 it was a disappointment, we were there Dec 1st for the 6pm skate, it’s an experience that we will always have and to have been skating at The Rink is something to treasure, however there is so much more that The Rink could do to make this magical like it should be, and the price of it.

We did walk to Bryant Park afterwards and it’s rink looked much better managed, did try it out so that’s ask l cash say about that.

Since I was 10 I have always wanted to skate here under the beautiful Rockefeller tree and my dream finally came true! In person the rink is so much smaller then what it seems on TV, but with the reservations, they space people out and it doesn't seem over crowded. It is a little pricey but for me it didn't matter how much because I got to mark this off my bucket list. Loved this so much!!!

When we were courting, my wife and I had 2 wonderful holiday skating experiences at Rock Center rink. It was magical. The VIP experience was def worth the extra money: semi-private “igloo”, right off the ice, where you could leave stuff, adjust skates, rest, enjoy cocoa & cookies. What a change to our most recent family experience! Crowded, noisy, dirty facilities, indifferent staff, horrible skates. And “VIP” experience is complete rip-off with no relief from any of the foregoing. Whoever runs the rink is totally free riding on the attraction of the venue and making no added investment or value. Have fun watching the skaters (for free) but, if you want to skate, go to Bryant Park or Central Park.

It is great to be able to ice skate at Rockefeller. I believe it is pricey compared to other places (Bryan Park is cheaper and is very close). The experience overall is nice because the ice was soft and easy to handle. Small amenities (such as bathroom) and would love to have eat and drink choices within the rink sides. Kids loved it.

I would recommend the Rink as a memorable and unique way to experience the amazing Manhattan atmosphere. Ticketing was quite simple as was the entry process. My only complaint was being offered decently sharp rental skate and one completely dull skate. I asked for another pair and had the exact same experience. Staff were expectedly ambivalent to my concern. So while the skating was unnecessarily treacherous, the overall experience was good.

Thanks for taking the time to provide this feedback. We will be sure to pass this along to management to ensure that improvements are made to our rental skates for future visits to the Rink. We're glad the overall experience was good but we want to do better.
