Great tour. Our host Austin made the whole difference. It was raining and cold but he kept us going, interested and energised. I would call the tour more Harlem / hip hop than just hip hop but that is probably best to keep the audience captivated.

B-Boy Loose Goose was our guide for what ended up being a private tour for the three of us - 2 adults and our 11 year-old dancer daughter. Loose Goose was energetic, knowledgeable and funny. We met at Lincoln Center and then hit the Subway uptown, then back thru Central Park hitting multiple key spots for hip hop history along the way. It was a beautiful summer day and you will learn some break dancing history, you walk a bunch and YOU WILL DANCE. We had a great time. These guys are independent business people who deserve you dollar for the hustle. RESPECT

This is my second time going on the Hip Hop tour and we had a fantastic time. My only disappointment came when we did not end the tour with the amazing soul food lunch in Harlem (I see that the restaurant previously visited has closed) and there was no t-shirts for sale this time. Other than that, the tour guides were wonderful, informative and fun and the tour was great!

With a couple of friends, we attended the Harlem/Bronx tour with Grandmaster Caz. As a longtime hip-hop fans, we were excited about visiting the key places of the culture history, accompanied by the legendary rapper. Our expectations were filled just partly. Much of the tour is being spent on the bus. When we finally reached some landmark, we were allowed to enjoy it for just a very, very short moment. For example, 1520 Segdwick ave., the birthplace of hiphop, we spent there just a minute, barely able to even take a picture. Very similarly - Big L mural, or Yankee stadium. I would also expect some other interesting places, that were left off. Instead of this, we spent more than half an hour by unnecessary breakdance lessons, half of the people were not even interested in. Audio/video in the bus also could be improved. Caz and the other youger guy were good tourguides, especially Caz, considering his legendary status and storytelling abilities. However, asking for a tip numerous times and refusing to take a picture without tipping was a bit too much considering the fact, we already paid full price for the ticket.

This is well set out on paper. Hip Hop legend leading the tour, stops promised are TRUE Hip Hop History, Excitement built up, but the whole things is organized like a cluster

We did the transportation Hip Hop tour. It was a full length tour bus. Why??? Because they over sold for the spots in a smaller means of transportation. They should have capped the spots/sold out the tour, so we could be in a MUCH MORE managing means of transportation, navigating NYC and it's smaller boroughs.
Tour guide did best of job trying to stay positive and keep it hype, but he has a bluetooth speaker, youtube with ad's playing between songs, a microphone/speaker set up that you can hear maybe up to 7 ft and constantly people saying they can't hear you.

The driver was his first time ever driving for the tour. Couple that with this mammoth bus through places like the Bronx and we missed SO many turns it was crazy.
This caused us to miss many stops on the tour. Have entire vibe just go downhill.

Host did best job to save it, in cases, but it felt mad corny, as we're missing stops and belaboring at ones because it was just way too long being on the bus.
Really wanted this tour to be incredible, as i'm a major Hip Hop head, but even the best stops felt watered down cause the bus was constant chaos.

Hopefully they never do a full length bus again. If we'd have been in the transportation that others have been on, I'd give this a 4/5 5 stars assuming that then they're not using a speaker that no one can hear, chaos of parking and what felt like a tour thrown together as if they were winging it

I had a great experience. The tour was very informative and engaging. I learned a lot about the origins of hip hop and the history of the neighborhood hip hop came from. I highly recommend for fans of hip hop visiting the New York City area.

Took in this tour on my last day of a five day trip to the city and it was one of the highlights of my visit...

Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and a real character who was incredibly engaging and made a big effort to involve everyone in the group.

If you are into your hip hop... Nu skool or old skool then you need to do this on your visit to the city

As a dancer, it was amazing to hear about hip hop history. Not only did the tour guide impart exclusive knowledge, but also will helped point me towards more legendary hip hop sites/people. My trip was made by the tour. Shoutout Uncle Reggie Reg from the Crash Crew!

Although I enjoyed some moments, such as some fruitful discussions with natives, the walking tour was definitely not worth it.

First, it was supposed to be a 2 hour walking that actually last 1:30.
Then, even though the tour guide aka Johny Famous was somewhat entertaining, he has definitely not the skills of a tour guide. We basically went through the different spots, such as Spike Lee's Office, The Notorious B.I.G. house and Biggies' mural paintings, but without any historical information or anecdotes following them.
Finally, besides the poor guiding competences, Johny Famous looked more concerned by its social media platforms and by taking advantage of the tour to advertise for himself. I'm quite O.K. with that, as long as one gives priority to his job first. But in this case, in addition of the poor tour quality he was not really invested in doing his job well, thus it's certainly not acceptable.

This review is specifically dedicated to the walking of Brooklyn, because the Hush walking of Harlem featuring RayZa was amazing.

We loved this walking tour of Harlem. Reggie Reg was a great host and has lived through quite a change in Harlem over the years. As other people have stated, it isn't in depth about Hip Hop, more about Harlem but great all the same.
