There's a reason why Comedy Cellar is ranked one of the best, if not the best comedy clubs in the country. This is a delightfully New York experience that you must not miss.

Book before for guaranteed seats. Be prepared to be seated where you are told and packed a little tight. The acts here are top class and much better than the surrounding options. Drinks service is fast and organisation tip top.

We had the best night here! All acts were hilarious! Highly recommend. Great value too, we had comedy, a few drinks each and some snacks all for under 100 dollars. Be warned this is a unique venue and there are some dodgy comedy clubs and advertisers in NYC (we found out through bad experience) so follow the reviews 😄 and... More

We had a reservation for a 9:30 show on a wednesday night. We arrived about 10 min before the show started and were seated promptly. This is an intimate venue so there isn't a bad seat in the place and we were just 1 table away from the stage which was great. The first 3 comics were great. I was... More

Made a 7:30pm Sunday night reservation, and figured that would be a bad show (that was the only time we could work into our trip, though), but boy was I WRONG. Aziz Ansari made a surprise guest appearance as the 2nd comedian out, and he was hilarious - as were the other handful of comedians. Sat within 5 feet of... More

Good intimate venue with excellent customer service and good selection of drinks. The girl hosting the night we went was the funniest out of all the comedians!

Second time to Comedy Cellar and first time was epic enough with Jeff Ross, Dave Attell, and Gilbert Gottfried but second time, DAVE CHAPPELLE was a surprise guest! It was amazing as you can imagine! Definitely top notch comedians and definitely a must see for visitors!!

The last time we were in NYC, I made sure to reserve a spot in the Comedy Cellar. This time around I decided to check out the new location they opened up, Comedy Cellar Underground and it was amazing! It is a much larger space, but it still has the same feel as the original. The house band was great... More

The staff was helpful with showing us just where we needed to stand/wait for the show and explaining their rules. No photographs are allowed (they will kick you out if they see your phone when it starts), heckling is certainly not a good idea, and do not show up intoxicated. Even following those rules I feel I need to apologize... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
