If I lived in NYC, I would be at the Comedy Cellar all the time. I reserved tickets online for one of the late shows on a Sunday night at the Macdougal location. Neighborhood/nearest subway stop seemed a little sketchy at first but we had no problems. Had no problem getting in as we had reserved spots. Seated us in... More

Best comedy club in NYC!! The comedians were hilarious including the host. The vibe of the club is very intimate and you never know which celebrities will just stroll on in. My Bf and I went on a Sunday night and it was packed! we could not stop laughing the entire time. I cant wait to go back to NYC... More

We went to the 11:30 show on a Tuesday night and weren't disappointed. Great lineup plus surprise visits from Ron White and Judd Apatow. Laughs went on til 2:00am. Reasonably priced live entertainment. We make it a point to visit the Cellar every time we get to the city.

We went to the 11:30 Monday night show. We booked online in advance, so there was no worry about not getting in. All of the five comedians and the mc were hilarious. Each of them had a different style, but they were all funny. This was a great way to spend a night in NYC.

We had a great time at the Comedy Cellar. One and a half hour of nonstop laughing. Four or five different comedians with a 15-minute act each, and a great presenter. Make reservations, even for a 7:30pm show.

Arrived here about 30 min before the 11pm show. Did not have a reservation but lucked out on standby and got a seat. Sat near some others who were there on their own from around the US. Pricey drinks but worth it to see this place and see some great comics.

A very in tamale setting. Hilarious comedians. So funny we went back the next night. Make reservations a head of time because there were tons of ppl waiting to get in and the venue is quite small.

We were delighted with our evening at the Underground at the comedy cellar. The talented lineup was tremendous. So many laughs and well worth it. We arranged reservations online the day before and took in the 7:30 show which was perfect. Would definitely return.

I booked our reservation in advance, so, before you go, I would advise you to go on the comedy cellar website and make a reservation. They fill up quickly and the 10:30 Friday night shows are my favorite. Dave Chapelle and Chris Rock showed up by surprise the night we went. MacDougal location and Village Underground are literally right beside... More

Like a box of chocolates, you don't know what you're going to get. Last Friday we got Colin Quinn and Judd Apatow as well as 4 other very funny guys. It was a young crowd but then again, every crowd seems young these days. We did the 8:45 pm show. The two drink minimum is part of the drill and... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
