We were tourist in NYC and went to the best comedy club in Manhattan (that's what we heard about this place). We arrived without making any reservation so we had to wait in the standby line. We we were able ho get in and it was great. 6 stand up preformers and a very funny host. Even though English is... More

This is the best stand-up comedy that we've ever been to, in person. There were several famous comedians there, such as Judd Apatow, and our server was prompt and courteous. Even with the cover charge and the two item minimum we felt that we got more than our money's worth! Great host, too!

As a huge stand-up comedy fan, this place is a must if you're in New York. It's a very small place, few seats and great service which makes it so much more intimate and enjoyable. They usually have guest comedians which is always a lovely surprise. A few tips and advises before you go: Reserve your seats on time. They... More

We went based on a friends recommendation. Good fun. Crowded seating but not out of the ordinary for a comedy place. Book late night if you can. Apparently you may be lucky to see famous comedians walk on to test new material.

I saw a great show in a great environment. It was very intimate and entertaining. The food and drink selection was great too.

We went to the Sunday evening show at 8 pm with lower expectations given our disappointing experience at Caroline's. The line up was 5 comedians who were hysterical. There was no one flat or off that night. I laughed so hard my body still hurts. We ate their panini sandwiches and they were surprisingly good. My wife liked their martinis... More

We wanted to get a souvenir for my sister back homes. Calling ahead, the manager said come by and they would sell a T shirt. Once we made the trip, staff said they were out and wouldn't check with the manager. Precious time out of our NYC visit wasted.

Plenty of fun in a legendary setting with big names (some so big they will surprise you). Recommend reservations for guaranteed entry and the best seating -or- plan on lining up for a small chance to get in about 1 hour prior.

The Comedy Cellar is awesome! The acts are all top notch and the food and drinks are good. The service was excellent for a busy place. The club holds a lot of people but is small and intimate so you are close to the acts m.

Probably one of the best comedy clubs in NYC! Great comedians, tasty drinks and located in a nice area. Possible to get in by stand-by list, but I do recommend to make a reservation in advance instead, because the stand-by process can seem a bit "stressful" with spending time waiting, waiting a little bit more and then not knowing whether... Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
