Just drinks by the lake but perfect spot

The food is excellent - but the service and staff attitude is not! We were given a gorgeous table, but the staff were inattentive or just too busy! We had an issue which we had to raise with the manager at the end - and he was abrupt, dismissive and downright rude! We chose this place for a special anniversary... More

It's hot in NYC and the stroll around Central Park was good but left us very warm. We saw the boathouse and decided to have a drink in their outside bar with a good table available. The beers were $10 each but worth it for the venue and shade. They were ice cold and served by a great and friendly... More

Not sure if we paid the price because we weren't dressed up. We were tourists and walked from Times Square so we had relatively nice polo shirts and khaki shorts. We were party of six and although four of us were going to sit down and start our drinks they wouldn't do that for us. The service from our waiter... More

We were able to rent a boat and take a brake from walking. The water was under an algae boom warning and this made the water all green. There were turtles in the pond and you can also go under a walkway and see the fountain. When your done you can get something to eat around the corner

Had a lovely hour on the pond/lake for $15. We all took a turn to row, and it was great to see the turtles basking in the sunshine and swimming about the boats

My wife and I stopped in for a late lunch. We had crab cakes to start, which were excellent. For my main I had the pork loin and can honestly say I have never had a better cooked piece of pork in my life. It was perfect. The staff were very helpful in choosing a wine and taking pictures for... More

Had a drink here in the snack bar section on a hot sunny afternoon. Sat in the sun with a soda and glass of wine for $9 - great value and a great spot for some lazy people watching. Didn't eat but the food looked good...

Finally got to dine there. Officially full but getting a table once we were there wasn't too much fuss. Hard to fault. Superb wine and food. Efficient and friendly staff.

You're not going here for the service. Despite the fact our server was quite nice, nothing was quick. If you book for a 2 they won't give you a lakeside table but apart from that the appetizer menu was really tasty, in particular the octopus.

Couldn't resist an hour in a rowboat for $15!!! Great views of skyline and fun to explore hidden coves of the lake. Nice to just float and take it all in!!!
