I absolutely loved the performance! And I also appreciated the way the staff checked us for proof of COVID vaccinations, and made sure people were wearing a mask before entering. They also walked around with signs before the performance, which read "Masks Up." If only they had been equally vigilant about the rude and self absorbed members of the audience.

First of all, we are both seniors. We had driven two hours for this performance, had to pay for a space in the parking garage, not to mention tolls. So what I have to say next will be well understood!

Even though we were told not to have our phones on during the performance, nor to eat in the theater, my enjoyment was definitely diminished by people crunching on snacks, and using their phones. Flashes of light coming from phones was annoying and distracting. I finally complained to the manager and he found us seats closer to the stage. Even there we were distracted by two women in front of us, who kept taking pictures of the performance. I can't understand how people can spend money to watch a performance, then spend most of their time doing what they can do anytime! I really think that the Majestic theater should have a rule in place that if they have to speak to anyone about using a phone during the performance, that person should be escorted to the lobby and made to wait there until intermission. That way they can indulge their phone addiction without spoiling the performance for others. And if people want to act like spoiled children, then they should be treated as such and made to leave the room.

Beautiful theater, Phantom of the Opera Tuesday night was a great show. However, one of the staff members completely ruined what was probably the last time I'll ever get to see it. After purchasing a shirt, I sat on the bench 3 feet from the still-busy line to book an Uber. After 7-8 minutes, a man came up to me and yelled that the theater was closing and I needed to leave. Taken aback, I told him I bought a shirt and was just waiting while there was still a line. He then YELLED that this wasn't "Grand Central Station" and that I needed to get out if I wasn't waiting for anyone. He seemed so certain I was alone, (which I was, and he just called me out in front of everyone) and at his rude tone I responded, "wow." This grown man, an employee, then mocked me, saying "wow" back at me. Flustered, I walked quickly to the door and passed it by a few steps, and in embarrassment muttered "where"s the exit." He then proceeded to humiliate me in front of everyone by saying in the most scathing tone possible, "It's the giant door with the big glowing sign above it." One of the other employees was nice enough to offer me a quick "sorry" on my way out. I then waited outside for my Uber, and was accosted by a homeless man who literally followed me around asking me if I was an actress, until a kind woman stepped in and pretended to know me.
I took a 24 hour train ride, spent 400 bucks on tickets, more on a hotel, and made the trip alone after my husband decided to tell me he wanted a divorce 3 days before our trip. I love POTO with all my heart and felt utterly blindsided and humiliated at being singled out. I was dressed nicely, behaved respectfully, only to be treated like garbage, and my night, which was already very hard for me, was made unbearable. That manager/usher is a disgrace to theater, and frankly, a danger to patrons.

Well I would love to be able to say that this was a fantastic show but unfortunately I can't. On arrival in NYC, after checking into our hotel, we were really excited that we were able to buy tickets for the following evening. We had an early dinner and made our way to the theatre. Being visitors from another country (UK) regretably we were unaware of the entrance requirements (Covid certificate and ID) and we were not made aware of these when we were sold the tickets. This means that we didn't take these items with us and there wasn't enough time to go back to the hotel and return.
We appreciate that rules are rules but the attitude of the Manager was really awful. She did say she was sorry but there was no conviction in her apology whatsoever and all we could do was receive a refund. We were offered tickets for the following evenings performance but on principle we decided to pass. As this was supposed to be a special evening for my 70th birthday it was somewhat upsetting

On Sunday, May 15th, I saw Phantom of the Opera with my immediate and extended family. During intermission my husband bought wine for four family members. He spent $124 on those drinks; that’s $31 a plastic cup for bad wine. There was no listing for prices and no transparency about costs. He felt obligated to leave a tip on top of that. Highway robbery. For Broadway, Phantom has some of the lowest priced tickets, but they make up for it this way and do not disclose the costs. Do not buy drinks or food there. The entire second act was ruined for us.

We had about 15 minutes to get to our seats from moment we hit the exterior of the building and we moved along quite well. THe show is amazing the theatre is beyond weathered. The seats are so tight I could barely wiggle my toes. Focus on the show and you are fine. When ibtermission comes forget going to the restmoon as the line of about 40 people wrapped down the hall to the other side of the building and not enought time during intermission to use the facilities- only three stall bathroom on that upper level and too risky to adveture down two flights for another line. No elevator. Poor 80 year old lady behind us struggled to get to her seat. At the endof the performance we were shouted out like we were at a bar for closing time. Totally inappropriate for people to deal with when traveling from all around the world to come to see specifiaclly see Phathom of the Opera. Also, when we waited for the show to start no music was playing and not even a introductory to the show to pump you up. Alll of a sudden the curtain opens and the show just started givng you the feel that you missed a few minutes. Good thing this theatre is goin got be done over as it appears they need a lot of changes here. We wanted to purchase a item afer show but shoved out of the door. A announcer would make things flow for the staff as well as guests. The show was impressive! The venue not so much.

This was everything I always dreamed it would be. I have been in love with the music of Phantom for 30 years and was crushed to see it was leaving Broadway. We planned a trip to NYC so that I could introduce my daughter to Phantom and we weren’t disappointed in the show at all.

The theater was beautiful, if a little old. There were lines for everything from merch to bar to restrooms. The ladies restroom on the upper levels only had a couple of stalls and the line was ridiculous at intermission. The ushers were assertive (which is fine) but it came off as harsh and rude at times.

The Phantom of the Opera performance itself was amazing, but the treatment that I received from the ushers was extremely disrespectful and rude. Once my family and I got seated and were 5 minutes into the performance, an usher approached our row and began yelling at us to get out of our seats and follow her without giving us a reason why. Once we were removed from our seats, we were told that another family had told another usher that we were in their seats and that family was promptly placed there. However, it was soon confirmed that the seats we were at were actually ours and when the usher asked the usher if she checked the other family's tickets, she responded that she had simply trusted that family's word.

Even when that got sorted, we were forced to wait another five minutes for the ushers to get that family out of their seats. This all occurred while the show was still going on and we were forced to watch the show from the aisle until we finally were taken back to our seats.

This whole situation could have been prevented if the first usher had either checked that family's tickets or let us show her our tickets. It was an embarrassing experience and not only was our performance disturbed but so were the people around us. It took us completely out of the performance and it took me a while to get engrossed by the performance once more.

This was our first time in New York and attending a Broadway show and it has been partially tainted by such rude and disrespectful behavior by the ushers.

Our first Broadway show and we of course chose Phantom. What a magical night! We were in the center orchestra, row 3. We couldn’t have asked for a better spot. The special effects were amazing and the performers were so very talented. The theater was really chilly, but not uncomfortable, so bring a layer to put on. There was a technical glitch that lasted about 10 minutes right at the beginning. It did not distract from the show, as it was handled well. The theater was beautiful. The only thing I would suggest is that late people should not be allowed to interrupt your experience by being let in. It was a pain to keep letting people threw during the performance.

Let me start by saying this is without a doubt my favorite Broadway show. I’ve seen it several times in addition to touring shows. The majestic theater is also beautiful. The performers are phenomenal. If you are reading this, definitely come see the show. It is the best of the best! My complaints are wholly with the experience I had with several rude staff members and very unorganized and chaotic entry. I went to 5 Broadway shows last week, and all staff were pleasant and helpful with the exception of the majestic staff. I went for the 35th anniversary and was beyond excited and found the staff yelling at people and very disorganized. The only exception was the woman doing the merch who was kind. The bar tender only filled a double drink up half way, which didn’t happen at any other theater. My biggest complaint was when we entered the theater to take our seats, the person greeting proceeded to yell at us saying we went in the wrong door. No one was directing outside of the doors so we entered the way we knew how to get to our seats (been here twice before). I said ok and went to turn around to leave and go through another door like I thought she wanted, but she yelled again and said fine we could go in but yelled at us about how we shouldn’t get seated. She did not want to give us playbills, but finally did. I was appalled at how we were treated. Never at any other show was anyone so completely rude. We easily found our seats, which were close to the entry point on our own and sat down, still confused as to why she was upset with us to begin with?? I went for a phenomenal experience to celebrate phantom and had an upsetting experience. To top it off the couple in front of me talked the whole entire performance, made out, fed each other candy, etc. we asked them to please stop talking during the performances. Would think if staff wants to get on to anyone it would be people disrupting the performance. Very disappointing.

The Majestic is a beautiful, large theatre that offers the classic Broadway experience. I was so happy to see Phantom one last time at the Majestic before it closes on Broadway. I prefer Front Mezzanine for this particular show to take in the falling chandelier & the movement of the Phantom beyond the stage.
