Music festival wise its a great space. Made it to the island in a ferry - very well organized. The festival itself was set up perfectly - we laid by the grass near the main stage and the view is impressive. I think this would be a great park to spend the day or make a picnic too.

A great place to relax and enjoy outdoor activities. I went for a music fest, but I was also able to play around with batting cages and mini golf. It's a clean place, and conveniently close to the city.

Enjoyed a day at the relays! Note: Not too many onsite eateries.... found other places at the Tennis dome across the street. Construction hindered alot lf parking. Bathroom lines can get long at times. Overall a great day with over 1000 high school athletes!!!

Attended a soccer tournament at this location and the facilities were really nice. The view of Manhattan and the river are also very nice. The park offers plenty of running or biking lanes. Not a lot of shaded areas, so I am assuming it will be really hot in the summer. Great place for soccer tournaments, the only drawback was... More

You can access Randall's Island via a footbridge in Manhattan that is about 103rd St on the upper east side, it has everything from batting cages to soccer to golf fields even concerts. If you are a sports person then this is the place to be

You access Randall's Island via a footbridge in Manhattan that is at about 102nd St on the Upper East Side. If you take the path to the right, you'll find lots of lawn areas, right on the water, where families come all the time but especially on weekends, to picnic. Just further back from the water is a set of... More

Viewed Astoria Park's Independence Day fireworks display from the other side of the East River, on Ward's Island this year (2015). The fireworks are shot from the base of the Hell Gate Bridge on Ward's Island, near field 62. It was an amazing vantage point! The fireworks seemed larger than life, almost as if they were shot off just for... More

Although we've lived in the city for decades, this was the first visit to Randall's Island ...it's a bit 'difficult' to get to....MTA bus from upper Manhattan, drive (toll on Triboro ) or walk (like we did)....the entire length of the island is only about 25-30 city street blocks, so very walkable/bike-able. Facilities are quite limited, so bring your own... More

It is truly upsetting and disgusting. There is one kiosk in the middle of the island one portable bathroom by the soccer fields. This is such a shame and truly upsetting because thousands of children use these soccer fields daily! It is unsafe and filthy.

Fantastic location for a sports tournament, we had 230 teams, over 2500 players with over 4000 spectators a day... What a great location. Food Services was slow on day one, but sorted by day two.
