Wanted a live Jazz experience so this looked a good bet. Was a Swing night and those that let themselves go and had the dance lessons seemed really happy. We just wanted to listen and don't pay the 15 doller premium to sit in the room where the band were playing. For us that was perfect. The food was ok... More

We had a great time at Swing 46... Like with a magic wand, you are transferred into New York 50-60 years ago. The band, the music and the singers were great, well worth the $15 cover charge. And the free swing dancing lesson is a nice touch (thank you Brian!) - you cannot learn swing in 20 min, but you... More

My friends and I visited Swing 46 twice during our 4 day trip to NYC as they had the George Gee Orchestra playing on the Tuesday and Thursday night. Definitely a highlight of our trip - the staff were very polite and accommodating, and the other dancers were so friendly! (And the music was amazing!) Highly recommend if you are... More

We visited NY Christmas 2016 and paid a visit to this jazz bar on a Monday night, they do add 15 dollars per person to the bill for watching the band but it is well worth it. I had the scallops from the menu which were delicious and not as overpriced as some of the other places around NYC.

If you are looking for a good meal with a good time, this is the place. We had a blast! My wife and I are pretty picky and we had a such a good time here. The music is incredible and the food was good. It's not the best food in NY but it was good and the entertainment was... More

So you pay to put your coats in. Then extra if you want to sit and see the music. Food was nice but the drinks/wine very expensive. Just felt like a ripped off tourist yet again! Come on people are not suckers.

The nice folks at Trattoria Trecolori recommended this spot for our pre-theater dinner after they were booked, they mentioned that no ones that they serve food. Swing 46 is a gem, very New York-feeling, but inexpensive and so good. Quiet and wonderful. I loved this place!! They have a beautiful $35.00 prix fixe and half-price happy hour!! A deal!! I... Swing 46 looks as though you have stepped into Frank Sinatra's era or a genuine 40's night club. The happy hour is good with 2 for one cocktails. Dinner doesn't start until 9:00 P.M. in the lovely dining room. The band is 8-10 piece and fantastic with a great vocalist, at least the night we were there. The evening starts... More

Went here with friends for the evening and we all had a blast. Girls asking guys to dance to some great swing and jazz music, young and old, black and white on the dance floor. It was like a throwback to the past.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
