Swing 46 looks as though you have stepped into Frank Sinatra's era or a genuine 40's night club. The happy hour is good with 2 for one cocktails. Dinner doesn't start until 9:00 P.M. in the lovely dining room. The band is 8-10 piece and fantastic with a great vocalist, at least the night we were there. The evening starts... More

Went here with friends for the evening and we all had a blast. Girls asking guys to dance to some great swing and jazz music, young and old, black and white on the dance floor. It was like a throwback to the past.

Where to begin? They charge $45 for a bottle of wine that costs under $6 at a liquor store. It costs another $40 for a couple to get in. OK. it's near Times Square and every place is too expensive. We went for the live music which was so so at best. The most disturbing part of the evening, however,... More

Disappointed!! Food was not good at all! And too much expensive. The risotto was awful. We expected more for the money we spent.

I took my boyfriend there on a Thursday night, and we danced around, had some drinks, and chatted. It was the perfect time and place to just relax with some awesome live entertainment, watch and learn from the better dancers than us, and enjoy each others' company! Defs doing that again!

We visited on Monday evening which was quite quiet. We really enjoyed our evening, food - excellent, band - brilliant and to meet Miss Dawn Hampton was a suprise extra. I knew of Lionel Hampton and his music but never of Miss Dawn, before, but to met someone so into Dance Culture in America was incredable. Search for Miss Dawn... More

We stumbled upon this place while looking for our original destination. They had a sign for a nicely priced fixed menu and live music. Yes, that was true, but when you get inside you have to pay a cover to sit in the area where the dance floor is and live band is playing the swing music. We declined paying... More

It's all about the music, the great swing bands, and the space to dance. Seven nights a week you can do this. There is no other venue in NYC where this happens. While all nights are great, weekends cater more to tourists and though coming in from the burbs to celebrate one thing or another. There's a very small cover... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
