I cannot recommend this place enough! It is the biggest hidden gem in new york city and every time I visit I leave having had the best nights ever. The band is incredible, if you visit on a night where they have the big band, then there are 16 musicians in the band as well as the lead singer. The... More

We stopped for drinks on our way to dinner at another spot. It was early, like 6 pm. We met Dave, one of the friendliest bartenders in NY City. My wife and I chatted with him and learned he was also an actor. I know actors. They can be aloof and distant. Not Dave. He is interested in you and... More

We saw this place when we were having lunch across the street and after seeing three Broadway shows just wanted some live music. They have dinner starting at 5:00 p.m. but if you want to stay for the live big band jazz music that starts at 8:30 p.m. there is a $15.00 cover charge. We enjoyed the food, the wine... More

Loved this Jazz Club, and especially the live Harlem Renaissance Orchestra who played lots of Count Basie numbers and were excellent. There was lots of dancing, including a dance lesson in the interval. I was so upset that I couldn't dance due to a back/hip problem, but it was nice to see everyone enjoying themselves, and especially the locals. It... More

First the good news. This is an authentic jazz club with a nostalgic ambience of the Cotton Club. At $15 entry fee with great live music and dancing it's great value and a special night out. However don't bother eating there. The food is at best average and very over-priced. One meal had to be sent back twice. The drinks... More

One of the worst meals that we have had in NYC. From the salad, bread, main and desert it was bad. Apparently they cater to tourist and don't care if they never come back.

Went after Broadway show fro late dinner. Superb waitstaff, excellent food, and fantastic music. Since we were just eating, we ate in the room with our the live music, although we could here very well. We just couldn't see the dancing, but that was fine because the music was so good. Really goods food, scallops and vegan lasagne. Desserts were... More

What a great Monday night , the young waiting staff were great and hugely helpful and didnt rush us over the evening . The food was good and hot - we had pasta. The band was " Swingadelic" a 10 piece group playing 3 x 45 minute sets - excellent musicians and covered Frank , Basie , Ray Charles &... More

Wow - this place is so much fun. I went with some friends all of whom had never done swing dancing before. They offer a free lesson during intermission which teaches the basic steps so you can get out on the dance floor. There were also lots of regulars and professional dancers. Everyone seemed to be having a wonderful time.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
