Neighborhood: Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighborhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighborhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighborhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.

Visited here during our visit to New York. Staff here are friendly and welcoming.

The choice of music is interesting especially on a Thursday when they have some crazy video sequence playing over the TV's.

Drinks are reasonably priced and cant wait to visit America again to return.

Friendly and attentive staff, a great happy hour (make sure to keep your receipts!). The venue is stylish and not pretentious. The crowd are the same. A great mix of tourists, locals and New Yorkers. The place is a 'blink and you'll miss it' kind of bar so you really need to know what you're looking for because it's literally a door and that's it, until the doorman comes on duty when it becomes a bit obvious. I would have stayed there all night had I not have had to get a train back early! Also very pleased that they serve my favourite Bajan rum too!

The highlight of the whole night for me was the doorman asking me for ID after I went outside to smoke. At 30 years old it's most appreciated!!

What an awesome club. Great shows and friendly crowds. An understated club with no signage outside which makes in a pot of gold keeping tourists out.

The bartenders are amazing friendly with the upmost professionalism not to mention super handsome.

The barracuda isn't what it used to be, been visiting New York for at least 10 years and always had fantastic night at the barracuda. However this time it seems to have lost its sparkle and it was cold, to cold to sit drinking whilst watching the show, w'll probably give it a miss next year.

If you wanna be in a dark and cozy place in a sunny summer afternoon this is the place (no kidding)... Even with colourfull disco turning lights, did I mention the bartenders are hot and nice (not as in other Chelsea gay bars).
