Neighborhood: Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

Terrific Bar
Nov 2019 • Friends
The Blue Bar is in the Algonquin Hotel. It is in an excellent space, and service is quite good. Prices are high, but not out of whack for New York.

The Round Table!
Sep 2019
Don't come for the food it was definitely underwhelming but do come for the atmosphere and the round table. The drinks were just fine! We were staying at The Penn Club across the street and I could not believe our good fortune to stumble across The Algonquin Hotel.

Cool Atmosphere
Oct 2019 • Couples
Dark wood, dim lighting, and cool 70’s music made for the best atmosphere. Good service too. Blue Bar is a winner.

Classic with a capital "C"
Nov 2018
I love coming into the Algonquin whenever I'm in New York. The cocktails are not the cheapest, but they are made professionally and perfectly. If you're unsure, give the bartender a preference, and he will create something to suit. I prefer to sit in the high-backed seats in the Algonquin lounge and sip cocktails. The bar itself is dark and, well of course, blue. That's good for a romantic start or end to an evening. But the lobby is great for relaxing, people-watching, and chatting with friends.

Comfortable Spot / Fancy After Dinner Drinks
Oct 2019
Came for after dinner drinks at the back of the room. Had coworkers staying here so we met at this bar. Outside the bar is a fantastic lobby with dozens of comfortable tables and chairs, which alone would have been perfect to order a drink at. But we went into the Blue Bar and ordered whisky, sambuca, and cheesecake. Great spot, expensive, but a nice time.

Interior Design

The interior design is impressive and you will feel hip when you come here for a cocktail. But beware the prices are steep. A fun splurge.

Just Okay for Me.
Sep 2019
Blue Bar is the bar and restaurant attached to the Algonquin Hotel on West 44th Street in Manhattan. We were staying at the hotel so I decided to go in and order a drink. The bar tenders were well known by many of the patrons at the bar. They were both friendly and poured a good drink. The place utilized blue lights everywhere thus explaining the name Blue Bar. The place was cool but it was almost $50 for 2 martinis.

Great bar
Apr 2019 • Couples
Great ambiance and as authentic as it gets for a bar. Super comfy seating in the dark paneled bar area. Attentive service and their signature Dorothy Parker cocktail is delish.
