Last week we saw the Orchestra featuring their own and 5 guest pianists. two women and 3 men ranging from a 13 year old prodigy to 89 year old Dick Hyman. The program mixed piano with only rhythm, to full orchestra participation. It was a wonderful first night of their 29th year! Despite it's name the venue is in the... More

Thanks for your review! We're glad to hear you enjoyed Handful of Keys and the Tatum Greenblatt Quintet. Although we aren't able to present live music on the Atrium stage before every performance, we do try to showcase young artists in the Atrium whenever possible. We hope you can join us again soon! I was reminded, during our first visit to JALC, of the jazz festivals I have attended around the world, with their multiplicity of stages and simultaneity of performances. Wynton Marsalis oversees a permanent festival, one with beautiful and welcoming spaces, in the Time-Warner Center. The place just swings.

Saw Dee Dee Bridgewater & her band & they were amazing! The view of Central Park while the performance was going on was magical ! The Champagne that was served wasn't too bad either !

Attended a jazz performance given by Robin Eubanks with a band of 16 musicians. Music was composed by the performer and it was both unusual and excellent

Not being a huge jazz fan I was uncertain as to what to expect but was plesantly surprised. There were two sittings with the same artists on the evening we attended. We had eaten only a couple of hours before sitting down here but our server had no problem with us ordering just a couple of smaller food items. We... More

This is a great place to go hear music. The acoustics are good, the room is medium size, there is decent food and drink and an amazing view of columbus circle.

Part of the jazz experience is the atmosphere, and this spot does not feel authentic. The location and views are the excuse to overcharge. Food isn't good either.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
