We had the great opportunity of enjoying one of the best Jazz players of our times: ELEW! Ina very intimate, cheerful and emotional session with the outstanding view of the central park behind. Although booking in advance is advisable, there is always a waiting list available if you show up the same day very early! Tuvimos la inmensa oportunidad de... More

We attended a wonderful presentation of the Merchant of Venice during this summer's festival (at the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle). The company was from the Globe in London. The venue is modern and comfortable. We bought tickets on-line ahead of time (the performance was sold out). The festival has a varied program with performances from around the world.

First time at this theater to see Merchant of Venice (which was an excellent production). Loved the theater, stage. Sat in the mezzanine section. The show was 2.5 hours long and the seats were very uncomfortable. Suggestion if you get a hearing assist device: check it when you pick it up.

I saw the Globe Theater's Merchant of Venice production last evening in this venue. Previously, I have attended a jazz concert here featuring Wynton Marsalis and his band. This is a relatively new space, about 12 years old, with great sight lines and acoustics. It is located in the Time Warner Center next to the Mandarin Oriental hotel. For taller... More

What can I say--this is a superb jazz venue, particularly the spectacular Appel Room with it's 30 foot tall windows overlooking Columbus Circle right behind the stage. Great venue, great performers, what more could you ask?

Great concert, food fine. Waitresses very helpful. However the set was too short. I would rather have paid more and stayed longer

Three of us went dancing at the Midsummer Swing Dance. The music was fabulous, the atmosphere was wonderful and I loved to watch the locals dance.

Whether digging Wynton Marsalis and the JALC Orchestra Christmas concert in the Rose Theatre, or Bill Frisell in the amazing Appel Room overlooking Colmbus Circle and across 59th - Brilliant.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
