In downtown Los Angeles can be found an iconic building with a terrace and restaurant with a fabulous view of Pershing Park. The services and the menu are superlative. A pre-booking is helpful and well worth the effort.
Those visiting the city find a rest stop with parking here and many major points of interest can be visited from here.
The efforts of the staff are remarkable in their servility and deserve all appreciation in the most honest way.

Right opposite the Grand Central Station, this restaurant is pretty big and busy, however it is not long before they find you a seating spot.
The food is good - we had eggs benedict, with sauce on the side - and the orange juice was actually fresh (not the Tropicana fresh, if you get what I mean).
Coffee stands chances of improvement, but hey, if you are a fan of filtered coffee, then it is perfect for you!

Met a friend at Grand Central for lunch so we crossed 42nd Street for a casual meal. It was great. The mussels were tasty and burger was a treat. Both happy. The staff was helpful and no pressure to finish quickly. Relaxed. Highly recommended.

I saw a Sam Shepherd's "Cure of the Starving Class" recently at the Pershing Square Signature Center. This venue has only been in existence since 2012 and it is a real gem! The tickets were only $35 which is unheard of in New York. They are non profit trying to promote great theater at affordable prices and I was totally impressed. In addition to the three theaters, there is a cafe and wine bar with snacks available as well as a book kiosk well stocked with plays and gifts that appeal to writers and theater goers alike. I can't wait to go back!

I've known about this place for some time, and finally had the opportunity to attend a show last night with my girlfriend. What a great space! It's a large venue, designed by Frank Gehry, with three theaters, a cafe, and a book store.

The cafe is upstairs outside the Diamond Theater, which was where our show was. It consists of several tables, and a counter where you place your orders for food, soft drinks, and alcohol. The menu is sparse, but decent with some gourmet sandwiches, soups, salads, and pizza, as well as a few dessert items. Prices are about average cafe prices ($7 for a sandwich, $5 for soup), and the food was really good. The bar stays open until midnight, and looked to have a pretty impressive scotch selection, in addition to some craft beers. We didn't indulge, but I took note for future reference. They also had live music being performed by a piano and bass player for some dinner ambiance. A very nice touch.

The Diamond theater has a great industrial-modern look. Our seats were front row, but it looked like any seat would offer a nice view. The production that we saw was "Kung Fu," which tells the story of Bruce Lee from childhood until the beginnings of his film super-stardom. I can't say enough great things about the show, which offered a great mix of dance, martial arts, and narrative, as well as some top-notch performances.

Tickets for most shows are $25 for all seats, which you really can't beat for a play or musical, not even for off-Broadway. In addition, you can print a coupon from their website which offers $15 parking at the lot around the corner for up to 6 hours. So, with fees, you could spend as little as $75 for a night out to a play, for two, including parking. I'll definitely be back for future productions.

In general the Signature is a fine place, with high-quality productions of execellent repertoire in intimate theaters. However, be warned that row E in the Griffin Theater, where I saw Boesman and Lena this week (tremendous performance), is AN AWFUL PLACE TO SIT. There are two rows in this house - E and F - that have straight-backed, rigid upright arm chairs (as opposed to the traditional seats that fill the rest of the house). Row F has plenty of leg room in front of these chairs and so is tolerable, but row E had only about 2" of leg room between my knees and the seat in front (and I am not long-legged). As a subscriber I was extremely displeased to have been sold these awful seats. I asked for new seats and was given them in row F, which was better. But I was furious that these seats were foisted on a subscriber in the first place. I could see that the poor man who was sitting in front of us in row E was packed in there quite uncomfortably. Signature needs to find a way to adjust this arrangement, which exists so those seats in Rows E and F can be completely removed for staging needs. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE DISCOMFORT IN ROW E. Be aware!

We were so impressed with the high calibre of professionalism and pleasantries of the staff, as well as the wonderful open layout and amenities of The Signature Theatre. We weren’t sure to expect, but we will certainly be back! We went to see “Be More Chill” before it hits Broadway in a few months. Fantastic show, by the way! And it was such a treat to see it on stage at The Signature.

Really nice off-Broadway facility has a couple shows going at the same time. There's a nice sized area serving food and drinks with a small bar. Went to see Jerry Springer - The Opera, which was entertaining and funny. We sat on the second level, off to the side. While small and intimate, the view was obstructed at times. If I were to go back I would pick first level, towards the back. The rows up front looked almost to be on stage / too close.
