Fun for a Bachelorette Party

Went with 5 other people for a bachelorette party, as the brie had always wanted to see a burlesque show. We originally were going to try and get seats upstairs, but when we got... read more

Just wanted to throw a quick review on here for one of the most funny, intimate and awesome venues I have ever been to. Certainly the best night in NYC. A real mixture of locals and tourists but with some comedy performances which blew my mind. They really are a talented bunch of people working on the show here and... More

So we dragged my friend here for the end of a bachelor party expecting a fun time. We knew what burlesque was, but nobody in our group actually saw a show. This was a great time. Even though we got tickets for the late night show they let us in earlier to see the other show (word of advice, get... More

Went with 5 other people for a bachelorette party, as the brie had always wanted to see a burlesque show. We originally were going to try and get seats upstairs, but when we got there we were told there was a private party and we had to stay downstairs. Not a huge problem, but it did get crowded. Mainly standing... More

We decided to try out The Slipper Room on a whim as we hadn't made any plans for the Friday night thinking we would be jet lagged after flying from Newcastle (UK). I'm so glad we weren't as this was our best night out in New York! What a quirky little place; amazing atmosphere and such welcoming friendly staff. They... More

Looking for something out of the ordinary? This burlesque/comedy show is worth the visit. It's highly entertaining and off the wall. We ordered tickets on line...cost an extra $10. When we got there, tickets were still available at the door. Save your money and buy a beer.

Not for the modest! I enjoyed going here for a fun change of pace. Room is tight and mostly standing room but I expected that. Convenient coat check and decent offerings at the bar. Stay for the last show- I found it was the best of the bunch!

Thought we would try this out for fun. Expected something different, and that is what we got. Some of the acts were fun, some WFT. A diffuse line between a "show" and a bar with "background entertainment". Fun to try out for a few drinks, but not something I would go to again.

I'd been wanting to go the The Slipper Room since it was featured on the first episode of "Mad Men" as the venue of Pete Campbell's bachelor party. Yes the place is dingy and gritty and they haven't renovated it since the 1960's, but that's the whole point. We were two couples and we got there right when the doors... More

Beautiful venue in a cool location. Staff very friendly and helpful. The entertainment was incredible and made for a very surreal evening - I loved it. The dancers were brilliant but the comperes where just as good and very funny. Loved goat boy and Unicordian. Would definitely go back again.

My husband and I bought tickets for The Slipper Room on a Friday night - it included every Act that was being shown. Doors opened at 8pm. I suggest that if you would like a good seat nearest to the stage to arrive at the doors by 8pm. The show doesn't start until 9:30pm, so my husband and I got... More

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
