Having been in 2016nwhen it was being redecorated I was please to see it looking exactly as you'd expect.
First time we went (yes we went twice in this visit) the engine was just leaving so we got to see the engine up close. This is when we saw the small shop inside selling stickers, t shirts and licence plates.
Sadly as the truck had just left so had everyone else so I didn't get a chance to buy anything.

We revisited a couple of days later and after having a wander about and a lively coffee from a small place round the corner the truck returned again and we managed to buy a T Shirt. The guys there must be inundated all the time with visitors and photographers but they were all really pleasant.

Well worth the trip if your in the area or a fan of Ghostbusters.

If you are a movie fun, especially Ghostbusters series, this is a must see place. Although it's only a FDNY, it's an iconic place. There is no problem to make photos outside. To make them inside, you need to talk with fire officers if you are allowed to enter. This place is a normal, working FDNY station but you can find Ghostbusters logo on the pavement as well as huge logo inside. Worth to take a subway to check it out. Subway station is very close (Franklin Street line 1).

I visited this place as I'm a huge Ghostbusters fan. It is still a fully operational fire station so this is not a tour or museum.

The 'attraction' literally is you can see the outside of the building which was featured in Ghostbusters 1 and 2. If the main fire truck door is open you can buy a t-shirt, hoodie or pin commemorating the place but aside from that this really is just a photo opportunity place.

I'm really glad I came here though. It was really easy to get to on the subway. I'd recommend. Please bare in mind though the people working there are firemen/women not tour guides!!

This is were it all started - Great place to take a snap and re live a few faint memories. Lovely staff that are there to talk you through and help with any questions. Fully working station so give the station staff room to work as sometimes it can get rather busy with tourists.

You can only see the outside because it's a working fire station but just to be where the Ghostbusters HQ was is amazing. Our hotel was 2 minutes walk away so not difficult for us to get to. Maybe a more 'official ' looking piece of pavement art would be a bonus. A must for fans. Ps the neighbourhood isn't a demilitarized zone!

I was happy to see that it is back now :-) The scaffold was removed completely, only some working on the street in front of the building...

Okay this is the deal, this place shouldn't have been as cool as it was, I've done it all, I've done the statue, I've done the Empire State, I've done the rock, but without a doubt this is the coolest thing I've visited in all my trips to New York City.

Let's be honest if you are a kid growing up in the 80s you remember the films like Ghostbusters and back to the future almost like a dream, they were your Soundtrack to growing up. I actually didn't realise this place was real I thought it was just a set probably in Los Angeles or somewhere.

So when I found out it was actually a real fire station and a working one at that, I just knew I had to go there. I'm not going to lie this place is hard to find a lot of people don't know where it is and don't even know the street. I had to ask in a couple of buildings and even they didn't know where it was until they went onto Google maps.

After you spent half an hour hunting around Tribeca, you come to the wonderful place. Not only does it look exactly like in the movies apart from the addition of a sign which if you ask really nicely the firemen will show you inside. There's nothing to do, it is nothing spectacular, it is just a fire station but it's a fire station that has been in my dreams since I was a kid and I knew I wanted to grow up to be a ghostbuster.

What really makes a fantastic is the fact that the fireman are so friendly, they are more willing to engage with people than most staff at Disney. In the fact that the Ghostbusters symbol is painted outside in the FDNY badge shape, which is pretty cool.

So if you were into Ghostbusters, go see the original before they remake it, totally trashing the film. The great thing about New York City is its like walking around the place that you feel like you've known your entire life. If you watched friends or you watched anything that was based there even if it wasn't filmed there the references are all over the place. We all know; Broadway, Times Square, Brooklyn, Tribeca.... Goes on and on and it's what is one of my favourite cities, no my favourite city on Earth

So if you get a chance like the song says going down to Tribeca find where the Ghostbusters lived, but remember to take a proton pack with you. I ain't afraid of no ghost

Due to the notoriously slow NYC construction industry, the firehouse has been covered in scaffolding for a couple of years.

They have been widening the entrance for modern fire engines, but when I visited a couple of weeks ago 'most' of the wrapping was removed.

This is a BIG event, because I have visited on my way through NYC a few times & at one point you had to be on the doorstep to recognise it. Now, it is easy to step back & see it easily. The logo graffiti is still on the sidewalk, but only to the right. The left hand mural was paved over, so I hope the crew redo that one.

It's a 10 min hike to the world trade ctr, so don't miss it.
