About
Lovingly known as the “Ghostbusters Fire Station,” this fully functional firehouse is home to New York City’s Hook & Ladder Company 8. Come up close and personal to the building where Peter, Ray, Egon, and Winston set up their ghostbusting operations, and spot the full-size Ghostbusters sign hanging right above the main entrance. If the crew happens to be around, you can even pop in to buy some memorabilia.
Avid TV and film buffs can also join a TV and movie tour to check the Ghostbusters Fire Station and other prominent filming locations off your list. – Tripadvisor

- Neil GBirmingham, United Kingdom53 contributionsCall in on the way past to ‘Who ya gonna call’ for a quick photoFor a quick place of interest pop by this iconic building. You’ll just see the outside and you’ll not be able to stop yourself from days ‘Who ya gonna call’! There’s not much to see but you’ll then look for the marshmallow man around every corner.Visited March 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten April 3, 2023
- D3223Kansas City, Missouri57 contributionsA must stop for any Ghostbusters fan! It’s a must if you are a Ghostbusters fan. It was awesome to purchase FDNY “Ghostbusters” shirts from the actual fire department and actual location of the Ghostbusters movies. I fully fully understand and respect this is an active fire department but I would have loved nothing more than to just take a quick peek inside. But sadly this isn’t a tourist attraction, but I’m glad I got as close as I did and purchased something from them!Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten September 9, 2023
- m wNovi, Michigan734 contributionsWho ya Gonna call?Located at 14 North Moore street. Not far from canal street and many major Subway stations. That was a pleasure to see ladder number 8. Make sure to walk there as there's not much parking around. You will find a big Ghostbusters logo on the sidewalk. To help identify the building. Need help? While we was taking pictures the doors opened and we got to see inside ( what a treat) lots of ghostbusters stuff and got to buy some of Ladder8's merchandise the money goes to the firehouse, i also think you can knock on the side door and if there not busy they will open up, if your a fan its a must if your not don't go .....Visited January 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten November 11, 2023
- squealerWhiteley, United Kingdom90 contributionsThe fire station from the movieNephew wanted to visit it as had seen the movie before we went. There are a few signs outside the building and a good photo opportunity but not much else. However it did make us go and re watch the films and i had forgotten how much fun they wore so the trip was definitely worth it on that front. Its a stop on the way to something else type of attraction as opposed to a special visitVisited December 2022Traveled with familyWritten November 28, 2023

Having been in 2016nwhen it was being redecorated I was please to see it looking exactly as you'd expect.
First time we went (yes we went twice in this visit) the engine was just leaving so we got to see the engine up close. This is when we saw the small shop inside selling stickers, t shirts and licence plates.
Sadly as the truck had just left so had everyone else so I didn't get a chance to buy anything.
We revisited a couple of days later and after having a wander about and a lively coffee from a small place round the corner the truck returned again and we managed to buy a T Shirt. The guys there must be inundated all the time with visitors and photographers but they were all really pleasant.
Well worth the trip if your in the area or a fan of Ghostbusters.

If you are a movie fun, especially Ghostbusters series, this is a must see place. Although it's only a FDNY, it's an iconic place. There is no problem to make photos outside. To make them inside, you need to talk with fire officers if you are allowed to enter. This place is a normal, working FDNY station but you can find Ghostbusters logo on the pavement as well as huge logo inside. Worth to take a subway to check it out. Subway station is very close (Franklin Street line 1).

I visited this place as I'm a huge Ghostbusters fan. It is still a fully operational fire station so this is not a tour or museum.
The 'attraction' literally is you can see the outside of the building which was featured in Ghostbusters 1 and 2. If the main fire truck door is open you can buy a t-shirt, hoodie or pin commemorating the place but aside from that this really is just a photo opportunity place.
I'm really glad I came here though. It was really easy to get to on the subway. I'd recommend. Please bare in mind though the people working there are firemen/women not tour guides!!

Iconic film location from a favourite childhood movie, nice photo stop if on the area. Nice touch adding the various Ghostbusters logos and laughed at the inflatable marshmallow man in the window of the shop opposite. Constant stream of people taking pics when we were there and the fire crew obviously love it as they were sitting by the fire truck posing.

This is were it all started - Great place to take a snap and re live a few faint memories. Lovely staff that are there to talk you through and help with any questions. Fully working station so give the station staff room to work as sometimes it can get rather busy with tourists.

We went to the Ghostbusters fire station whilst in New York as one of us loves the films. We thought that it was really good, especially as it's a working fire station. There are bits you can buy there and the staff at the fire station seemed friendly as they talked to others.
Definitely take a trip if your a ghostbusters fan and in the area.

It's just the building on the outside. The inside is a working firehall.

No se si hay visitas guiadas, lo que si te puedo decir es que puedes ver la fachada exterior.
Can you get off buses to look around

Subway stop is closer than the nearest bus stop. Here's a good article with pictures of what they are doing to renovate the building. Google

I am not sure. Since I rarely go to that section of Manhattan these days but you can google it.

Yes. The last press report I have seen was last July: During the construction, which is expected to finish in 2017, the fire company that normally uses the space is working out of a firehouse in Soho, north of the iconic Tribeca location.
There were still scaffolds around the building when I walked by last month.

Hi, the corner of North Moore Street and Varick Street in Tribeca district. not far from Lex subway station and lots of funky (expensive) little shops and coffee shops dotted about.
