- Fearless001547863482 contributionsMy friend & had travelled over from the UK I booked here for Thanksgiving buffet dinner & the disco afterwards & it was a disaster. We waited 15mins to get our table even though I had a reservation for 7pm, there was no cutlery on the table so we waited another 10mins for this and our wristband. The waiter then said he needs my credit card which is fine but I don't think they should take the card away. We were then booked for the disco at 8pm but we got told it wasn't starting until 10.30pm because the staff couldn't move the people sitting where the disco was going to be. We left about 2hrs after arriving & it certainly was not worth the $70 per person we paid. ,Visited November 2024Traveled with friendsWritten November 29, 2024
- GKB16Carlisle, United Kingdom112 contributionsWe visited on a Saturday evening on holiday. We had to queue to get in but it didnt take long. We loved this bar, the drinks are slightly expensive but you pay for what you get - an amazing view with a superb atmosphere. Dj playing songs, drinking a cocktail while watching the sunset over the Empire State Building and skyline of NYC. Perfection.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 24, 2024
- NoéMontreal, Canada65 contributionsImmersive experience in the heart of the big apple! We were there in winter and nothing unpleasant! Bubbles/igloo but what a genius! Offering us this setting and the opportunity to eat outside overlooking the empire, nothing more crazy! So yes we pay $15 to get in but it’s just a small thing compared to the evening we spent there! We ate burgers, fish and chips as well as a salad, the cocktails were very good too and prices amply affordable! I strongly recommend it! Perhaps even more than going to the top of the empire where you will have substantially the same view if I may say with the view of the empire! The bar below is just as decent! Music, decor, atmosphere. Everything New York youth ultimately deserve!Visited December 2024Traveled with friendsWritten December 28, 2024
- DianeTamworth, United Kingdom17 contributionsIt must be about 15 years since I visited this bar the last time I was with my daughter, this time I was with my partner. This is the best place to view the Empire State Building getting fabulous photos all around. We enjoyed several cocktails including mango and jalapeno nice with a spicy kick. DJ played rap type music. I would recommend this rooftop especially for view it can get busy and there is usually a line.Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 22, 2024
- David VCordoba, Spain186 contributionsDrinks place on the top floor of the building, with reasonable prices and a very good atmosphere. It has a large area dedicated to a dance floor that is surrounded by another area with a table where you can consume quietly. In addition to drinks, they have some food dishes with which you can dine on the premises. Unfortunately when we went it was not possible to access the outside due to the rain, but even so through the windows there are good views of the city.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 16, 2024
- Stowey-TravellerNether Stowey, United Kingdom445 contributionsLarge roof top bar with great views of The Empire State Building. Although busy we got a nice table with chairs, you pay a premium for drinks but the frozen cocktails were particularly good. Great place to spend an evening in good company.Visited September 2024Traveled with familyWritten September 25, 2024
- DanyLosone, Switzerland1,063 contributionsCrowded place, especially without reservations. Difficult to sit in igloos, however with so much patience we succeeded. The view from the Rooftop is gorgeous. I recommend that you provide documents because they are required at the entrance.Visited December 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten January 3, 2025
- Dennis L208 contributionsYou can eat and drink here, for reasonable price (by New York standards). Also one of the few rooftops where you can also go with minors. But this is mainly about the fantastic view from the roof terrace over New York and especially the Empire State Building. The picture says it all!Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 18, 2024
- Peter “El Soldadito”Ciudad Juarez, Mexico124 contributionsIt is a very nice place, with very good music and first-class service. The night view is the best, so the experience as a couple is excellent. We had the opportunity to dance a little (I don't know if it's common), and the DJ helps keep the atmosphere going depending on the crowd... I really enjoyed the visit.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 30, 2024
- Paweł BorNew York City, New York1,917 contributionsWhile the rooftop offers a pleasant ambiance, I find the enthusiasm surrounding it somewhat perplexing. The space tends to feel overcrowded, diminishing the overall experience. Additionally, the use of fences, rather than glass barricades, obstructs what could otherwise be a captivating view.Visited September 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 15, 2024

The entrance to the Rooftop is next to The Smith restaurant: 1150 Broadway. You will be asked for identification upon entering the ground floor.
Access to the rooftop is then via an elevator. Drinks are ordered directly at the counter and the locations are free. The view is splendid!
The price of the drinks is quite reasonable given the incredible view that the bar overlooks the Empire State. We really enjoyed this bar. We went there a little before 7 p.m. which allowed us to see the sunset and avoid the crowds that went there after 8 p.m.

This might have been the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. I want to start off my saying our server Mitsy was lovely and was not the issue atal but …
It was mine and my boyfriends last night in NYC and we really wanted to book a sky bar to enjoy views of the city. We had pre-paid £140 to book an igloo with a set 3 course meal.
The first thing to happen was a rude security guard downstairs demanding ID as we entered the building.
Secondly the igloo is made out of cheap plastic and you can’t see through it so completely pointless for a sky bar.
Thirdly the door on the igloo was made out of heavy metal and made the loudest clashing noise everytkme people came in and out, completely ruining any kind of ambiance.
After all of this I was just praying the food would be good but I had to send back my steak TWICE due to it being well done and tough when I asked for med-rare. (Later in the night I overheard the manager telling another table that the steaks were all frozen and this is why the steaks are tough)
As my partner had already eaten by the time my second steak came out wrong I then said I didn’t want to eat anymore food.
The whole experience was ruined. OH AND MEANWHILE whilst all of this was happening there was people with cameras constantly trying to come into the igloo, take pictures of us and then ask for money. So unprofessional and awkward.
When I complained to both my waitress and her extremely unhelpful, dismissive manager they said there was nothing they could do due to the owners being away. So we were basically ripped off £140 just to have our last night in NYC ruined.
Honestly gutted.

Very famous place for aperitifs at sunset (and afterwards). The frozen cocktails are truly amazing (among the best I've ever tasted before). Staff at the entrance were a little grumpy (I recommend your identity card to enter) and the crowd was too crowded (we couldn't find a small table to sit on for an aperitif as it was very full). Unmissable view of ESB

I really wish we’d read the reviews before coming to this place regarding the service (or lack of). We had been in touch with the bar over WhatsApp a few months in advance to understand how to book the rooftop bar for their 4th July party. The communication at this point was actually really informative. We then booked tickets as soon as they became available. When I say it was the worst experience I’ve ever had in America, I wish I was lying. As soon as we arrived the doorman didn’t even look at us, was speaking on his phone in another language and we managed to work out from his gestures that he wanted to see our ID and then he waved his hands a bit more suggesting he wanted us to go through. The next lady we saw to show our tickets looked like she’d rather be anywhere else, no smile, no welcome, she scanned our tickets and waved her hands a bit more gesturing to go through. We got to the rooftop bar and understandably it was very busy and there was nowhere to sit, which essentially meant that you were constantly in the way. We’d booked tickets in advance but they were also selling tickets on the door which meant there was even less room. The hosts (2ladies) didn’t welcome us, spent the whole time talking to each other and on their phones. Queue for the bar was very long, not an issue, we were finally spoken to by a member of staff who advised us we could go to the other bar as it was open and there was no queue. So a bunch of us wandered round to the 2nd bar and we’re stopped by 2 more women ‘Erm you can’t be here this is for reservations’ we explained that we’d been sent round, ‘right, have you got a reservation?’ No, we were sent round to use the bar, ‘well you’ll need to leave after you’ve been to the bar as you don’t have a reservation’. She was truly awful. Right there and then my husband and I were like, we aren’t giving these people any more of our money. Everyone who worked there was incredibly rude. But we should have known before we got in based on the initial interaction. We ended up watching the fireworks from FDR drive and it was magical. Seems others had the same experience on 4th July at this bar based on the comments. If we’d read the reviews we’d never have booked so we hope to help others. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Don’t bother if you are disabled or or have a family member with a disability. Not autism aware or autism friendly. Terrible customer service. Not disabled friendly and discriminatory views. They have a lovely section on their website about making the website accessible for people with disabilities. Shame this doesn’t extend to the restaurant/bar.
When we enquired by phone (from the UK) and email we were met by rude and unhelpful staff. It was explained that we really wanted to reserve a table because our autistic daughter likes to ensure reliability and no last minute changes to a plan. When I asked if we could reserve a table for her 18th we were told no. In fact we were told that we should consider that there will be loud music playing at the venue!! That’s an appalling preconceived generalised and discriminatory judgement!
Not all autistic people are avoidant of loud music, in fact my daughter loves nothing more than a loud vibrant place. What we don’t like is turning up to a planned venue and being told there is no space or availability. Especially as we are travelling from London and we are trying to plan out where we need to go and where to eat.
We even offered to pay a deposit for the table.
When we didn’t get past the restaurant email we asked to be put through to someone in head office. This request was ignored.
Not at all sensitive to the needs of people with disabilities and not inclusive.

Not a good experience : Cocktails at this rooftop were disgusting , I ve never drunk cocktails like that. Knife and Forks were in plastic, it’s not sustainable development. We are in 2022 guys , think about our planet !
And one more thing: They take your credit cards and passport at the beginning ...it’s the policy they said !
So at the end , the view wasn’t that bad , the food (probably from the freezer) was eatable but I will recommend you to go to an other rooftop even if it’s a bit more expensive ...
Vraiment pas top ce rooftop : le pire étaient les cocktails mais le service n’était pas top du tout, tous les couverts en plastiques jetables , ils prennent la carte bancaire et le passeport en « sécurité »... un conseil : choisissez un autre rooftop !

Good view, but disappointing. The cover was only $15, which is respectable for a New York City rooftop bar, but the inside is probably best phrased as insufficient. Generally expensive, and it seems like it's trying to be the best of both worlds when it really half commits to both and fails. Looking for a good rooftop to drink at? The Times Square Margaritaville resort offers much better views and usually no cover except on NYE. Looking for dance music first and foremost? You can't get better than Marquee or Nebula. Want a rooftop nightclub? PHD and Somewhere Nowhere have got you covered. This place just seems to exist and do nothing major that other establishments can do better.

This rooftop was a surprise! A nice bar, beautiful people, different types of drinks!
We went at Happy Hour and you could see Empíre States turning on the lights! As it was daytime, we watched the sunset and at night everything was lit up.
Until 8pm there is no entry fee and everything in the bar is only sold by card

Interesting view but terrible, non-existent service. Definitely not a place to enjoy the view and eat something. We paid $15 just to go up and they sat us at a table but we waited 20 minutes to order, asking several times if we could do it, and then we left. Very loud music and very low average age. We preferred to opt for a place without a view but with a more decent or at least existing service.

This place was recommended to us for the view of the Empire State Building. The cost of getting on is $20, you don't need to book, the queue is very long on Friday and Saturday evenings, during peak times. On the terrace there are several interesting photo points that attract tourists. With the $20 entrance ticket you will have included a basic cocktail (gin & tonic no more). High prices and poor quality, nice only for the view and photo opportunities.
