Joyce leads an outstanding tour itinerary - she is extremely knowledgeable and interesting. Her tour of Grand Central Terminal was wonderful - she quoted facts and added so much information that one would never know without the same in depth research that she Joyce has clearly done.

Joyce Gold was recommended to me by a New Yorker and I wanted the best. Our schedule did not allow us to take her public tour so we scheduled a private. Two hours for $360 total. We met at Trinity Church in Lower Manhattan and learned much from the Dutch beginning to the English colonial period. She also brought the birth of our nation and New York today into the narrative. I was pleased with her knowledge but in the future I would only do a public tour for $20 each and believe I would get essentially the same benefit.

Hi, Thank you for sharing your review. I work all the time to get the best history, the best presentation, & the best updates for all my tours, & have been doing so for the last 40 years, so $360 for the 2-hour private version & $295 for the 1 1/2 hour tour, seem fair to me. But once & sometimes twice a week I offer the $20/$15 alternative. Here's hoping the appropriate version fits your scheduld. Please check my website at joycegoldhistorytours.com for the Scheduled & Custom options.

Just toured with Joyce from Greenwich Village to Chelsea with 4 family members. Joyce weaves information about interesting historical residents, various period architecture, street pattern development and notable landmarks. Knowing that I had ancestors who lived in the area 100+ years ago, Joyce came with a period map to show what buildings remained in the area from that time. Joyce is passionate about the City and its history and is a great ambassador. I've worked in the City for 25 years, and recommend this tour for native NYers who probably don't know a lot of the detailed information she shares.

We first met Joyce Gold on the Queen Mary II during a transatlantic crossing. She gave three lectures about NY history and we knew immediately that we would seek her out at some point for a tour in NY (we live in NJ). This public tour coincided with stay in NYC so we did it, She is simply fantastic - incredibly knowledgeable but with more than dry fact - always some good dirt! She is extremely personable. It was a well thought out tour, expertly delivered. Can't wait to do the next one. Many thanks.

Thank you belatedly for this marvelous review! The Alexander Hamilton tour continues to be very popular - history plus shenanigans makes for a great story! This September I'll be speaking again on Queen Mary 2 transatlantic crossing from Southampton to New York. Any chance I'd see you again?
