We opted for a private tour Central Park, and honestly it’s well worth the extra money. Tony was a wonderful guide, laid back, knowledgeable and with a sense of humour. It’s a great way to get around the expanse of Central Park but without feeling rushed. There’s a lot of people trying to sell you bike hire/carriage rides etc near the park but I recommend booking a reputable guide like Tony so you know what you’re getting! Thanks again.

The tour starts (meets in front of a pizza place). Tony was our guide and came to greet us and then proceeded to take us on a short walk down 58th street and gave us fun commentary on some of the famous (and expensive) homes along the street as we walked towards the bike rental shop where we were handed our bikes. We then walked our bikes across the street into Central Park where we had a leisurely ride around the park. Tony stopped at famous landmarks and gave us some great info on each one as well as a short time to visit the monuments and take pictures. We had a fantastic time! I am glad we did the tour because otherwise we'd get lost on our own as first timers and wouldn't know which landmarks were in the park to visit. I highly recommend BikeToursCentralPark and Tony as your guide - he works in the morning so if you book early in the day, there is a chance you may get him. I read other reviews before booking with this company and we were so glad we got Tony.

Fantastic bike tour with Tony! We were lucky to have a beautiful day as Tony led us through Central Park. He gave us great information about the history and sights of the park as we rode. He stopped several times so we could do a bit of exploring after telling us what to look for. We had a wonderful time - highly recommend this tour!

We loved our bike tour with Tony! He was super knowledgeable and shared lots of fun facts to keep us and our 10 year old daughter engaged during our tour. We had a great time and learned a lot, highly recommend! It was a good way to start our trip off.

My husband and I took the private bike tour of Central Park, because we didn’t have time to explore on our own. We wanted to see as much as possible in a short time. We are so glad we chose this tour. Our guide, Tony, was incredibly knowledgeable and informative. I highly recommend the tour.

Tony was amazing as a tour guide. All of the information to the meeting spot was clear and simple. Tony was a lot of fun and was a wealth of knowledge. I would not have learn't as much about central park if I had rented bikes and gone around independently. Tony showed us all the key sights and gave us time to explore. The riding is very easy (not strenuous) yet we covered 10 km. Thanks Tony!!!

While our tour happened and let us see Central Park for it’s true beauty, it left a lot to be desired. Our tour was over crowded and our guide was unorganised and late.
I booked this guided tour following a fair bit of research online and reading many trip advisor reviews. We booked a 10am tour for our Friday morning and on the day, headed to the allocates meeting point in plenty of time.
10 minutes before the start time, I received a WhatsApp voice note from Sergio (our guide) saying that there had been a change of plan and we needed to meet at the actual bike stop instead. So off we went, met our guide (who was less than welcoming), collected our bikes and waited with no real updates on what was happening.
Sergio disappeared saying he would be back soon, with more and more people arriving at the bike shop and all of us were waiting outside, taking up most of the pavement. Sergio re-appeared and we realised that we were going to be in a group of 24 people. This meant that all of us were trying to follow 1 guy on busy roads/crosswalks and then onto the roads of Central Park and often meant that the group was split up.
We stopped at 6 locations in the park and had a very brief explanation of what each stop was, told what time we had to look around that spot, and then that was it - definitely not the informative tour I had been sold and read about. If you were near the front of the group while cycling, Sergio would be telling different bits of information but there was absolutely no way that the whole group could have heard this.
All in all, I wouldn’t recommend this particular tour/guide/company.

A brilliant, fun, informative, laughing, healthy way to see the real NYC Central Park. Our tour guide Tony was bursting with so much information and knowledge. A local New Yorker approached us, who was listening to his guide and having seen us being brought to the "real" areas only known by locals. He informed us that he hadn't seen a tour guide inform and show people the real locality and that it was refreshing as a New Yorker to see such excellent guiding. If your capable of even cycling a bike slowly, then you'll easily be able for this tour.

My son and I did a two hour tour of Central Park by bike. Sergio was an amazing guide. We stopped at all the famous landmarks and learned so much about the park and the city. I highly recommend this tour to see Central Park and to learn more about the history of the city.

Easy booking process, excellent customer service, spectacular tour and tour guide. Tony did a wonderful job making our family bike tour an enjoyable experience. He was filled with engaging tid bits about the park and also gave us time to take great photos. Would definitely recommend and book in the future.

Hi,
The bikes you are talking about are called rickshaws or pedicabs. These are pedal-operated carriages that may take up to three people. Your guide will be pedaling you around the park and will be telling you about the highlights and the history of Central park. There are several designated stops where you can hop off, look around and take pictures. The pedicab talking head tours are quite flexible in time, distance and locations you can visit.
