We had an incredible tour with Tom! We had originally booked for March 2020 after glowing reviews from our friends, but the pandemic postponed our plans. We reached out to Tom 2 years later to rebook and we were so happy to hear that he was still available. We were visiting with our 12 year old son and spent the first day of our trip on this tour. It prepared us so much more for the rest of our visit!! Tom picked us up at our hotel, took us all over the city (including a wonderful bakery for a famous chocolate chip cookie), into Brooklyn for lunch, stopped for photos, and dropped us off near the restaurant where we had dinner reservations. He gave tons of recommendations, local insights, and history about New York. Tom was flexible and willing to go wherever we wanted, including a stop at the Ghostbusters Firehouse for our son :) If you are fortunate enough to book a tour with Tom, do it! He's an absolute treasure!

Tom Orzo forgets more about New York in a day than anyone else could know in a lifetime. He offers his knowledge with great humor and humility. His tours are flexible and extremely well researched.

DEEPLY GRATEFUL! Thank you Smyth, for those glowing words. I loved my day with you and Marcela, and your combined insatiable curiosity about all things NYC. Though Manhattan is the BIG show, I really love spending the day touring around Brooklyn and Queens. This is the first tour that I've brought visitors to JFK to see the dramatic, restored 1962 TWA Terminal designed by Eero Sarinen in 1962 - especially our cocktail "aboard" a vintage TWA commercial prop plan. Thanks again for coming to town with a spirit of adventure!

From the initial email contact with Tom through the post-tour text with selfies from our day, this was a top notch experience from start to finish! Our group of 4 (2 moms and 2 young adults) asked for a tour highlighting the parts of New York that were harder to explore on our own, and focusing on food, especially bakeries and chocolate. Tom provided that and more. He picked us up right on time from our hotel in his comfy, luxurious sprinter van and started out heading uptown, pointing out little known sights on the way to a great bakery to enjoy a breakfast snack. While we were there, Tom brought the owner over to chat with us and give us the history of the place. We mostly drove through the upper west and east side, with a few stops on the way. It was quite cold, so we were grateful for the van. Throughout the day, he had maps and photos, and extra things to show us to make the experience all the more enlightening. For example, he had the record cover from West Side Story to point out the address on the trash can in the photo when he showed us the building the picture was taken in front of. He stopped for lunch in a different spot than planned, when my daughter saw a place she had read about online as we were driving by. We asked about a chocolate shop we were interested in midway through the tour and he found it and took us there. Right before our trip, we emailed asking about specialty cheese shops as my daughter wanted to look for a cheese she had in Italy and could not find in the US. He took us to one of the oldest cheese shops in the city, where she sampled and found the cheese and the owner autographed his book for her. Due to the heavy traffic, our tour time was up, but Tom had planned to take us to one more chocolate shop in Brooklyn and to take photos of the skyline. He insisted on spending the extra time it took to complete the tour, and even had hot chocolate and cookies waiting for us in the van after the very chilly photo shoot of the city. All in all, a fabulous day with a very entertaining, knowledgeable, and thoughtful tour guide. We will most certainly look Tom up next time we are in NYC, and will recommend him to any friends looking for a personalized tour of the city.

Thank you, Kirsten, or should I say "mille grazie!" Wow, I'd like to write such a review of your review, because I was having a good time and fun with Team Kirsten all along the way, from Sullivan Street bakery to The Brooklyn Heights Promenade (and that weird, "biblical" weather event that descended up us even as we were looking at the disappearing skyline - that was unforgettable, and we have photos to prove it!) Never, ever have I enjoyed a hot chocolate with cookies more than that. But at the risk of repeating myself, the best tours always come down to the company on-board, and that was certainly the case for us that day. Your "team" brought the energy onto the van, all I had to do was drive, and talk, and talk some more. It was a memorable day for all of us, and I am thrilled that the timing worked out to meet a few owners (and authors!) along the way - that was fortunate. And I am thrilled that the food stops were up to NYC standards and all expectations were met - and especially that the elusive Italian cheese was tracked down. It seems like we had a little magic working in our favor that day. It wasn't me, it was us! Thank you for a memorable day, God bless! Tom

It was a rainy day, but Tom made it fun for us regardless! He was so knowledgeable about many aspects of the city and really gave a great lay of the land. The tour was very worthwhile and I'd recommend it to everyone - I'll be taking another one of his tours next time I'm in NYC!

Thank you, Pat, for those kind words! I greatly appreciate that you found a tour that met (and exceeded?) your expectations. I've said for years that NYC spoils tour guides - Manhattan all by itself is a never-ending show, and any tour guide who cannot provide a worthwhile tour of The Big Apple should find other work! Fortunately for me, you and Jane were ready - curious, interested, open - and all I had to do was let the City speak for itself. After all, it's a never-ending show! Thanks again - I look forward to touring with you again! Tom

We had a late flight on 10/12/2019. Just off a cruise and had time before flight. I booked a NY City tour with Sterling City Tours. Tom Orzo was great and took us all around NY showing and "telling" us all about NY. He also had maps and pictures and gave us information about NY past and future. We stopped at the Memorial and other interesting sites and he explained everything in detail. We went to all the wonderful sites of NY and he detailed each place for us. I would advise anyone wanting to learn about NY to contact Sterling City Tours, a great experience, Tom Orzo is a wonderful and knowledgeable guide. Well worth it. He has a great Mercedes Van with a bubble roof, and we were very comfortable the entire tour. John and Karen South Carolina

Thank you, John and Karen, for those kind words. This is not the first time we have met people at the piers for their return cruise, provided a NYC tour, and taken them to the airport for the return flight home. It's a great way to turn "down time" into productive time. So glad it worked out to your satisfaction and very grateful that you shared those very nice compliments in such a public fashion. (I also appreciate the beautiful Commemorative coins that you made and gave to me as a souvenir of our tour - so thoughtful!) Thanks again for your loyal support, and I hope we can tour again some day. Tom
