This castle is in central park, it is a quiet place without a lot of people, it is my favorite place to sunbathe, with the view of the castle. The central park is very extensive and there are little places like these ...

I learned about Belvedere Castle from a book based in NY, and from that moment I was very curious to check it out. On my first visit to the city I missed it somehow, but this time my girlfriend and I went from the great lawn towards Manhattan and we were finally able to visit it. Castle is an exaggeration, as this is simply a construction on top of a rock overlooking the turtle pond, the great lawn and with a wonderful view on the Upper East Side. We went to the top of the building and checked out the many turtle which were lazily tanning under the sun. The inside of the building was pleasantly heated and there is a security guard inside who was quite gentle and was in charge of checking the stairs leading to the terrace. If you are in Central Park make a detour and visit this cute castle, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Although I have been to NYC many times, including Central Park, I had never visited Belvedere Castle before. This structure is idyllic and has a beautiful setting. It isn't as big as I was expecting (when I think 'castle' I think huge), but the views from the various levels were breath-taking!

Great spot to see views of Central Park and the city. Interesting architecture with multiple levels to explore. Fun spot to explore with kiddos - but the staircases are super narrow so just be patient going up and down.

Before trip to NYC, I didn't hear about Belvedere Castle. Even during planning phase, I was not planning to go there. However during spontaneous walk, my wife and I discovered mentioned castle. Even it's not real medieval castle, it is very beautiful. At the top there is breath-taking view, cool spot for selfies :) And it's not crowded area (Feb 2020).
