The Central Park Zoo doesn’t have a great diversity of species of animals like other zoos may have but the ones they do have have nice exhibits and are well taken care of. I was impressed by their bear and Japanese monkey enclosures. We stayed...More

Never knew there was a zoo in central park until we ended our 3 hour tour at the zoo. I was impressed with the variety of animals it had in such a small section of the park. Plan to spend an hour to enjoy it...More

The zoo is very small, but my boyfriend and I had a great time. The snow leopard is gorgeous, the penguins are beyond cute and we were lucky enough to be watching the sea lions right when the trainers came out to give medication -...More

Zoo is very small, sea lions are great. Don’t expect any animals from the Madagascar movies like my kids did. The petting zoo is horrible though, don’t go there, a handful of goats and twice the amount of rats running by your feet. So disgusting.

This is a small zoo, only about 16 acres, and most the exhibits are not very good and don’t compare with top zoos. It just barely rose to the level of “worthwhile stop” to me because of the snow leopards (beautiful!) and the bird enclosure...More

I was visiting in New York and purchased advanced tickets online to this zoo. By the way, you get a discount by purchasing in advance! The zoo was very pretty and entertaining! Big pool for sea lions in the middle of the zoo and they...More

Please note that Central Park is obviously not a big zoo due to its location. It also does not have many of the creatures seen in Madagascar - lions, giraffes, zebras and Hippos. However, it is great for what it is. While there are not...More

We took our 18 month old grandson to this zoo. What a disappointment! The children's zoo is dirty and crowded and has little of interest. The rest of the zoo is not at all child friendly. Strollers are prohibited in most exhibits and there are...More

Expected the animals from movie Madagascar, but only the penguins were there. Others must have left for the wild. Those others are lucky as the zoo is small and animals are locked in small places. Most of them were hiding somewhere where the fewest visitors...More

When a group of 4 grandparents, 2 parents, and 3 boys (2, 4, and nearly 8), arrived at the zoo, the person selling tickets warned us that there were only 90 minutes left until closing. Perfect! Plenty of time to run off a 6 hour...More

Definitely yes for farm animals. You can buy animal food close to where the animals are. You need quarters and they have change machines where there are machines for food. Animals are very well trained and young children can... More
