Path of Hikjackers

When I flew over the towering skyscrapers in the same path of the 9/11 high jackers I knew it was a historical flight

Our typical trip to the Big Apple involves viewing components of the skyline from the city's streets or from hotel Windows... a vertical perspective. It is on the trip in from the airports that on sees the skyline impressively fill the horizon made possible by Manhattan's island status, It is the view from the ferries, especially from those to the... This is best viewed from the Staton Island Ferry. It is spectacular to be able to see all of the incredible skyscrapers. This is a must see if you are in the area.

You can view it for free from the Staten Island Ferry as well as Brooklyn bridge. I would recommend both!

The Manhattan skyline was simply breath taking! Seeing it from the other side of the river was jaw dropping.

I discovered the ferry and the incredible view because I stayed at the Hyatt Jersey City on the Hudson, directly across from Lower Manhattan. The views are spectacular, and there are plenty of eating place to enjoy the view, or you can take a picnic! one of the bargains of New York!

I suggest going to the Brooklyn Promenade in Brooklyn Heights to see the sunset behind the Manhattan Skyline. The sunset is especially vibrant in the spring and the fall.

Hop on a no.166 bus from Manhattan's Port Authority Bus Terminal and head to New Jersey. Sit on the right side. As the bus begins its route into NJ, there's a spectacular view over the Hudson to the Manhattan skyline. Stay on the bus for 20 minutes or so, take a look around an area which seems predominantly Korean then... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
