We took the tour this past weekend (May 6th, 2012). The weather was nice and John's tour made the experience even more enjoyable. The pace of the tour was very good - about 2 hours and covered about 2 miles starting at the Plaza hotel area on the east side and ending at Strawberry Fields area on the west side. The details he provided were fascinating and he was able to narrate his own personal history from when he used to stroll through the park during the 1960s/70s. That personal element was a wonderful addition to an otherwise thoroughly enjoyable tour.

John's Central Park Walking Tour on May 7, 2012 was fabulous! I loved the fact that we were able to hear John's facts of Central Park through an earpiece. We kept in a group but never had to huddle around to hear John speak over the crowds of people! John also handed out a map of Central Park for his group. I already have passed John's website onto friends and family and look forward to his next tour! Thanks, John for a wonderful day!

John is a wealth of knowledge and an excellent guide! I learned so much about Central Park and the history of New York City. My husband and 8 year-old son joined me on this tour and everyone had a great time. I would recommend John to anyone - whether native New Yorkers, or visitors to our fair city!

Thank you John. We had a wonderful Sunday afternoon walking through Greenwich Village. Even though we are native New Yorkers and have walked those streets many times before, we had never experienced all of the little alleyways or history behind many of the places we visited. Your expertise and knowledge of the past made the village come alive. It felt as if we were on a vacation in some other city. How glorious it was to discover our own backyard! Your many little anecdotes and numerous asides were exceedingly entertaining. It was also quite an added bonus to experience what it was like to sit in one of the small cafes while listening to music and poetry. We can't wait for the next tour to discover more of the historical highlights of our great city. Don and Amy

The Greenwich Villiage Tour on April 1, 2012 was fantastic! John had us meet at a central location in the village and provided us with a map of the tour route and the places we would be seeing. That was a great idea and helpful if you want to go back and learn more about a place in the future. John was knowledgeable, funny and informative - the perfect mix for a tour. He gave us the high points, some history and of course some "little known facts" that most people did not know about. As a 'jaded' New Yorker I thought this would be a fun experience (and it was), but not much of a learning experience, since I worked in the West Village for over 3 years and spent a great deal of time down there. I was wrong! I cannot believe how much I learned about an area I thought I knew so well. John made it so interesting, I can't wait for the next one. Joanne T.
