The area
Neighborhood: Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.

Go for the fun of it! Stay for the fun of it and enjoy all of it that you can take in. Good place to visit just for the name of it truly. Who doesn't want to be a Fat Cat in New York!!

I went like one week ago as an after party on sunday when I thought nothing would be open, but there were they, open and with greath jazz music! I would definitely go back to play!

Fun place to chill out and play some games, although the place is a bit run down and dirty (only got a B on recent hygiene inspection).

Was in town with a couple of friends and this was a great place to chill, play some pool and ping pong. Really made us reminiscent of our college days.
The place would have got 5 stars had it not been for the poor selection of beers.

Free jazz is good. Drinks are average prize. 3 buck entry per person. 7 dollars per person per hour for games - which is really expensive. Even to play chess for a couple of hours will cost you 28 bucks!?

Staying down in Grennich we wanted a nice of jazz, the fat cat did not dissapoint! You walk down the stairs from the street, we were greeted by live jazz. Drinks were very cheap and the quality of music just great. It's a large venue, ping pong tables and other table games fill half of the room. We were there for the music though and boy was it good! You like live jazz and blues and a great range of beers? Then go check this place out, we had one of our best nights in NY here!

Live music, good beer, billiards, table tennis, scrabble and more. It's like $6.50 per person per hour for table tennis, which seems a bit high. There's a lot to do, more than just stand around and drink. Guaranteed good time.
