I feel so grateful to have met Dharma and experienced teacher training with him. I have taken a variety of yoga teacher trainings over the past 8 years. While I learned a lot from all of them I longed to meet a teacher who truly lived the beautiful teachings of yoga 24/7. This is who Dharma is. His 500 hour... More

The 500 LOAY teacher training refueled my life and soul. I live in Nashville, TN and have been teaching yoga since 2009. My sister and I own a yoga studio together and were searching for our 500 hr training. A dear friend told us about Dharma and we are so grateful to be a student under Sri Dharma Mittra. During... I have been teaching yoga full time for quite a few years now and after doing my 500hrs in India I wanted a challenge physically and a style that I could say I was connected to. I spoke to a fellow teacher after coming back from Dharma training after noticing the positive changes in her physical practice and her energy... More

Dharma Mittra is a refreshing personality after hearing so much about frauds and corrupt gurus. He practices what he preaches and lives the life that he advocates to his students. His presence always makes one ponder one's life and his brief yet pithy statements such as "Be receptive to the infinite knowledge within" make the visit to his studio worth... More

I can't say enough good things about this studio! For one, Dharma Yoga Center is the real thing! Truly one of the best and oldest studios anywhere in America and one of the first in NYC outside of an ashram! A very special place. At any given time you will see some of the best yogis in the world pass... More

I had a profound experience and am grateful for the opportunity. I highly recommend it!! It started a few minutes late but it was a full hour class. So definitely got our money's worth.

I went to Dharma to fulfill one of my dreams which was learning from my teacher's teacher. I can not put into words the feeling of peace, satisfaction and pride after every one of his classes. Dharma Mittra is such a beautiful soul, I already had a connection before I met him but the true is that is 1000 times... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighborhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of the city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets - much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighborhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being home to a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
