About
Originally built in 1907 as a shipping and storage terminal, Pier 57 had various uses throughout its life, becoming a significant part of New York City’s history and earning a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. After sitting vacant since 2004, Pier 57 is coming back as both a community destination and a vibrant piece of our New York City presence. The joint efforts — between Hudson River Park Trust, Google, RXR Realty, Youngwoo & Associates, and Jamestown — honors the Pier’s original design while introducing new elements that enrich the local community.

Pier 57 is a definite visit
the James Beart Pier 57 or Market 57 is amazing. It has the City Winery, Huge selection of Wines. The food court has a great variety of foods to select from. Ample seating both inside and out. But whats particularly cool about this is the the Park up top. Tremendous views of the Hudson as well as along the Hudson Yard. you can take your pets even up top. it's very clean, fun, and a place to bring a family for a Picnic. Could be a romantic dropset for Pictures, etc.

Less crowded alternative to Chelsea Market
This market is a minute's walk from the perpetually overcrowded Chelsea Market. It offers a more limited selection, but when we went there were no crowds and ample seating. It made for a more comfortable dining experience. Nice views of the water and a generally peaceful vibe.

Great lunch spot with the view of NYC skyline
Fabulous view from the rooftop. Take advantage of the various food stops inside. All very appealing. Wonderful decor. Incredible view of downtown. Places to sit outside to enjoy the view of little island and downtown.

    Amazing Views
The views here are amazing! There are plenty of restaurants on the main level, we were there rather early, but if you’re there for lunch, this is a great option. The building opens at 6 which is fantastic so you can beat the crowds. The upper level deck was amazing. Great views with a green space. We even saw a family of ducks! Oh, let me add that it’s free to go up to the rooftop!

Great space with some amazing views!
Great free public space that has lots of food options and seating throughout. Expect to pay about $15-20 for meals, $4 for soft drinks and $10 for beers...on par with similar places like this. The Pier also offers some amazing views of Hudson Yards to the North and Little Island and the Freedom Tower to the South. The views are even better on their rooftop park...also free and open to the public until 1am. Accessible by stairs or elevator. Most food stands open until about 8am, but the Pier itself is open until 1am. Clean bathrooms. Very close to both Little Island and the Chelsea Market...very convenient include this in a daytrip to this area and visit all three places. They are all free to enter.

Hot, fresh food cooked while you wait. The breathtaking views are a bonus.
A food court called Pier 57 Market offers varied fare to New Yorkers as also curious tourists. It was surely a special experience when one considers this place was in its previous life, a shipping terminal as well as a cargo storage area. It boggles the mind to think that latterly it even served as the the Hudson Pier Bus Depot for the New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA). It would have required vision, blended with imagination and courage to embark on a project such as this to transform it then into a destination for the discerning foodie. We went there at lunchtime and not unsurprisingly it was busy. Families and children, couples and groups of friends seem to flock to the place. With so many cuisines in offer, it made for a difficult choice. Of course, one could be tempted , like we did, to sample a range of dishes from different stalls. Uniquely, food was freshly cooked, while you waited.By definition, this was indeed fast-food. Naturally, the food was fresh, hot and tasty. And everything appeared to be done maintaining high hygiene standards. There are commodious elevators that take you up to the viewing area where one is treated to panoramic views of New York harbour and the Lower Manhattan skyline. And when you get there you could take time to spend on wooden benches to relax and enjoy the breathtaking sights around the Hudson. Or even have a picnic! Looking out in the right direction, in the far distance, one can spot the Statue of Liberty. One may then opt to take the steps (or the elevator) up to the highest floor and there you’ll find a massive roof top park. A profusion of flowers bringing colour in well tended raised beds covering almost two acres!

Located on the Hudson River near Manhattan's Meatpacking District, Pier 57 was originally a shipping terminal and cargo storage facility. It has been commercially redeveloped and now has a food hall serving all manner of different cuisine, a beautiful rooftop park, a community space for events, working and studying classrooms, an interactive gallery, and several educational event spaces. My wife and I popped in for refreshments whilst in the area and greatly appreciated the break and chance to use the excellent free WiFi.

Pier 57, a massive structure that juts out over the Hudson River around 15th Street- has an altogether different vibe. It's a new, renovated, noteworthy amount of public space, including a large and well-appointed "living room" with free Wi-Fi; a two-acre rooftop park; and Market 57, a food hall with 16 vendors.

Nestled within the historic Pier 57, the market serves as a hub for small business owners and entrepreneurs in the food industry,

Fact: Originally built in 1907, for the past 20 years, Pier 57 in New York City has sat vacant. It was once a cruise terminal and transit depot, and it's even listed in the National Register of Historic Places. It was redeveloped and re-opened in 2023 as a vibrant destination.

Market 57 offers views of Little Island with its mushroom-shaped towers to the south and the Chelsea Piers golf-driving range to the north from its window-side counter seats.

Indoor seats include raised circular tables with stools and counters at some stalls. The food seems more carefully curated than at other food courts, with stalls that include Indian, Thai, Caribbean, Mexican, Japanese, and Chinese food counters, with prices on par with other halls but in many cases of higher quality.

This is a large and very nice food hall with many excellent dining options, with lots of seating and spectacular views along the Hudson. There is also a rooftop park providing panoramic views. It was the perfect place for our family to have lunch, as we were all able to get something different.

Fantastic views of little island, battery park area and Chelsea Piers. Visit Pier 57’s food hall too. Fantastic restaurants too. City Winery is there too!

Wait and see...for now nothing special, but really hope gets better. For now either go into chelsea (bypass /go above chelsea market) or head east towards Washington sq park

Hopefully pier57/aka James beard food hall will improve
But for niw:

dosa ok but needed microscope to find filling & waaay too hot wo warning
Mushroom tortilla - no mushroom taste, overall skimpy 4 price
Lobster waterlogged & salty -maybe end of day?
Due Madri sandwich looked good but $22 for it?? Add in tax it's sit down restaurant

Anthony Bourdain's vision for this pier was realized at midtown urban hawker which is very good. For now, this is a food court by real estate developers

Suggestions:

Bring in more stalls (food truck rotation?)

Encourage decent portion size (rice is cheap)

With these changes reviewers, tourists and locals will come - other than overcrowded Chelsea market and a few food trucks the only other options are expensive

This is a new attraction worth visiting if you are getting claustrophobic at Chelsea Market. It's only a block away and right at the riverfront by that relatively new park with the supports that look like white concrete wine glasses (can't recall the name of the park but it's cool).

There are several food vendors beyond City Winery and there is a rooftop garden with great views and a relaxing vibe. It's not connected to the High Line but the High Line is not far.
