Long running off-Broadway... But why?

Went to this play. Interesting little 4th floor theatre. Another play was on the third floor. This play was "on sale" at the TKTS booth. I now know why! The gentleman at the TKTS... read more

Went to this play. Interesting little 4th floor theatre. Another play was on the third floor. This play was "on sale" at the TKTS booth. I now know why! The gentleman at the TKTS booth told us that if we liked crime drama tv shows, we would love this play. How wrong he was! The theatre itself is tiny. Not... More

Don't listen to the other reviews - if they didn't get the plot, that's because they weren't paying attention. I thought this play was great. The characters acted very well together and had a flow that was phenomenal. We suggested it to other couples at dinner. Very impressed and actually ON Broadway. A treasure to find. If you like murder... More

Very difficult to follow the plot. Very difficult to hear the dialogue - and we were seated in row 6. The main character seemed to be racing through the required dialogue like she had somewhere else to be. Save yourself the headache and be somewhere else.

I've never had more mixed feelings about a show. We tried to win the lottery for a higher profile show on B-way that day, didn't win, and as a plan B, easily obtained tix to this off-B-way staple for a great price on Today Tix (use my TT coupon code RDMPJ if you want to try it). We thought this... More

Looking for a Last Minute show to attend, the TKTS person recommended this. They should be fired. Yes, the play has an almost clever plot, and we did talk about the permutations as we searched for a bar to drown our sorrows after the show. But the acting was wooden, stilted, and unconvincing. Maybe Catherine Russell, the leading lady, needs... More

Had seen mixed reviews online, but after becoming a fan of Detective Kenda decided to give it a try. 4 flights up if you enter on Broadway- there is an elevator on the West 54 St entrance. Theater is compact and for our matinee visit had about 40 patrons- so it was easy to move forward. It was very intimate,... More

Would not have seen this if i had read reviews. Terrible acting, lots of shouting. Am surprised it has been running for 30 days let alone 30 years . Dont waste your money.

We probably wouldn't have booked to see this if we'd seen the Tripadvisor reviews first ... However we are glad we did. Really enjoyed the show. It's in a small and intimate theatre not far away from time square. Slightly nervous around the quality of the entrance to the theatre but glad we went in. The two hour show just... More

This was one of the worst (not THE worst but right up there). I can't believe this is the longest running non-musical on broadway. It is commendable that the lead actress has only missed 4 shows since it opened (a loooonnnngggg time ago) ..... but I ask myself why? Time to retire the show and move on to something else.... More

Dull confusing and really bad. Too much screaming shouting and yelling. Any show that gives you an answer key at the end .. beware. The real prop gunshots are extreme nerving but I think they have it to shake you awake if you fall asleep once in a while.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
