Debi K. was our exceptional walking tour guide with lovingly unconventional humor and unique, really scary ghost stories at every location visited. At unexpected moments I actually felt chills go down my spine! WooooHoooo! Everyone in our group had a lot of fun and learned so many historical and architectural tidbits. This tour truly opened the door for me once again since I was a child, to believe in ghosts and their true purpose of actually existing.

Ghosts Of New York worked with me to create a special daytime trip for my students. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, touching upon not only the ghost stories but architecture and literature as well. My students had a great time, thank you very much!

I took the Ghosts of New York Grand Central Tour with Tour Guide Andy, and I thought it was great, I'm a skeptic, but I keep and open mind, and I love NYC History, and Andy is an encyclopedia of NYC history. The tour takes you to some corners of Grand Central nobody ever visits, and thats what made this tour so great. Its hard to think of ghosts when there are thousands of people walking through Grand Central, but next time I will take the tour at night. Did I see any ghosts? Not this time, but when we left the Campbell Apartment we heard a gate slam shut. We looked around, We didn't see anyone, no one was near the gate, and for a few seconds nobody said a word. Spooky? You decide.

I just got back from the ghost tour in Greenwich Village. The guide was excellent, vibrant and informative. Especially the area around the Washington Square Park was creepy. One lady was actually able to catch a ghost on her camera. She showed us the image of the shadow that was in a form of a human. I recommend this tour to all of you who are looking for a fun and excitement.

What a waste of money and time. This is not a ghost tour, its a history tour. The guide, who was so boring (sorry) told us about famous people who had died in the houses he pointed out, nothing ghostly or scary at all. The only reason we have given the tour one star is because Greenwich Village is such a beautiful place and we would not have seen Greenwich only for the Ghost Tour. We would have dropped out half way through the tour but felt it impolite to do so. Sorry but would not recommend this tour.

My husband and I went on the Edgar Allan Poe tour. I am a history teacher and we have been to a dozen ghost tours around the US, and this one was by far the worst. The guide was overly eccentric and gave only a basic historical background...nothing you would not find in a basic history book. The stories were very bland and uninteresting. My husband and I were so annoyed and bored that we left the tour after 20 minutes. We went into a resturant, and then ten minutes later another couple recognized us from the ghost tour. They two had left the tour early because they found it so dull. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time and money on this one

My family and I have been on many ghost tours throughout the USA. We go for the fun of it and to learn about the local folklore. We enjoy hearing the stories of the hauntings that are supposedly historically accurate. I'm not sure what we experienced last Friday night (7/6/12), but it was a bit of a disappointment. We signed up for the Ghost of Greenwich Village Edgar Allen Poe walking tour. There were some historical tales about Poe and other so-called ghosts of New York, but the rest was all about the tour guide. My daughter and I were ready to leave after 30 minutes, but decided to stick around for the remainder of the tour. (90+ minutes) The guide was entertaining, but very self-promoting. How many times did we have to hear that she was an actress? Too many! She sang a song from "Ragtime" for us, talked about her participation in a music video, said how she should set up a booth reading taro cards in Washington Square Park, and chatted for a few minutes with friends she happened upon while giving the tour (neighbors of Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick). This was all a bit annoying! Where was Dr. Phil anyway? We had our fill and will not participate in any other tours from this company. The highlight of the trip was the actual meeting place- across the street from Anderson Cooper's coverted firehouse loft.

We went on the tour of Grand Central Station, and got at lot of information on the place and its history. But we just walked around in the common areas, no going behinde "the scenes" and there were not that much about ghosts. If u like a history lecture go, if u want ghosts don't go.

There was little tie in with Poe on this tour, aside from where the tour met.The stories were not terribly interesting, and it was very hard to hear the guide. A self-guided tour might be a better option.

Really enjoyed this tour. Given how much everything else in NYC costs, it was a bargain at $20. Deborah was friendly, fun, and very knowledgeable. This is more than a ghost tour - it's really a historic tour of the Village, and some of its cool, out-of-the-way nooks and crannies. One bit of advice: you don't go inside any of the buildings, which means that whatever the weather, you're going to be in it for almost two hours. We did the tour in January and it was cold! So pack your down coat, long johns, hat, gloves, etc. - whatever it takes to stay comfortable in the weather.
