My wife and I have taken a few photo tours, but this was the first night shoot. We met Gildo and after a short talk, we started walking around the city. Stops included the UN Building, the Chrysler Building, Grand Central, and a few random stops. Gildo showed me several techniques I didn't know, and showed my wife how to... More

I have done several photography tours and this citifari one is equally the best. Glide's knowledge in both technical and creative was outstanding. His friendly nature and jovial manner made this very enjoyable. I took some photos that i've never knew how to take before. I would highly recommend this tour.

I’m a Mexican amateur photographer, It was my first photography tour ever, I would highly recommend it for sure, Michael was great, very patience, we took enough time to go through all the spots and he explained very well how to set up the camera to get the best pictures possible.

I found the session that I had with Peter was great, I got an immense amount out of it. Peter was creatively challenging, with an approach that was experienced, informative, supportive, but most of all – friendly! The safari took us to recognisable New York sights such as Macy’s, Empire State, and Grand Central Terminal. This was a good part... More

The original night tour I worked was not available. It was a Sunday and the 15yr anniversary of 9/11. So not too surprising. So I rescheduled for a 4pm tour. Lucky for me I was just me, and that is when I met Peter Figetakis. As I would soon find out I was in for a treat. This man is... More

Gildo is a professional photographer that has traveled the world. He showed up tricks and gave great advice on how to get the most out of my camera and how to view the NYC landmarks in a new way. Photographers will love this tour!

This tour was more than what I expected. Gildo was our tour guide. I really appreciate him, as I got into the city late and was running behind, another couple was on time and they waited for me before starting the tour, even though it was 100+ with the heat index that day. Thank you for that because I would... More

I booked this night photography tour on line today and my credit card was billed immediately including $15 for hire of a tripod. The trouble was simply that nobody showed up! I got an email confirming the meeting point and time and was there 10 mins before. After waiting for 30 minutes I rechecked my emails and discovered one from... More

My wife and I took the Central Park photo tour with another couple and enjoyed it immensely despite a 100+ degree heat index. Now anyone who says that must have really enjoyed the tour. Gildo is a perfect blend of teacher/artist/guide/New Yorker who not only entertains with his knowledge and humor, but also teaches with his photographic knowledge and art... More

I did the night tour. Outstanding! Gildo is pro with a wealth of knowledge. So much learnt on this tour. I will be practising for the rest of my trip. Make sure you do your photo tour at the start of your trip not the end.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
