We thoroughly enjoyed the tour Gildo's style. He adjusted to our skill level and walked through some basics, building us up steadily as we went along and showed us some creative techniques. A great pleasure and interesting photographer to have been on tour with. After the tour for the rest of the holiday, we were brave enough to mostly use... More

Very well organised, and upon booking I received instructions on where to meet and what to bring. Citifari did not disappoint. There were only two of us in the group and we learnt so much. Our guide Gildo is a professional photographer and it showed with the quality of the tour. Not only did he know his stuff, he's an... More

What a great tour of SoHo! Our guide has done architectural photography in the past and was very knowledgeable about the history of the area, architects, building styles, etc. as well as teaching us how to best photograph them using the manual settings on the camera. Learned a TON about how to adjust settings on my own in an encouraging... More

Really enjoyed the experience, Franscois was a great instructor, and I learned lots. Great way for a beginner photographer to cultivate a passion for photography with such talented photographers. Having the programme in advance would have been a help in getting my head around settings. Otherwise, brilliant experience

I learned several new things about how to use light for dramatic effect in my photos. I also learned where there are some great photo opportunities in Central Park that I might not have found on my own. I took a lot of competition-worthy photos!

I booked a 10 am tour the preceding day. I received a text that night that the tour might not be going ahead, depending on teacher availability. I was texted at 5 am to tell me the tour was cancelled. I still have not received a refund 10 days later, and may have to work through the irritation of chargeback... More

David, per our communications we have initiated the refund and you should have seen it already. We have also offered you a free tour as a courtesy to apologize. While you booked the day before we asked you whether you wanted to reschedule or refund, since we could not find a photographer on 24h notice. We are a small business... More

Gildo walked me through Central Park in the wind and rain and, although I think I know quite a bit about photography, he showed me some new ways of looking at things and took me to interesting places I might not have found - especially as my time in NY was limited. Highly recommended!!

Gildo took us on an evening tour this past Saturday night. Light rain didn't stop us from having fun and learning so much! Gildo was surprised to see that my son brought an old-school film camera rather than digital. Because he's a pro, he quickly made adjustments in how/what he would teach and gave my son tons of tips. We're... More

My wife and I have taken a few photo tours, but this was the first night shoot. We met Gildo and after a short talk, we started walking around the city. Stops included the UN Building, the Chrysler Building, Grand Central, and a few random stops. Gildo showed me several techniques I didn't know, and showed my wife how to... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
