It's iconic and the building interior is brighter than i remember in 2004. Enjoyed going round and buying little brown bag branded stuff but everything else way too expensive with the $ against the £ being so rubbish. Concierge was lovely and we had some good conversations and he helped me navigate. So thank u.

When planning my trip to NY I already had Bloomingdales on my list of stores to visit - and they didn't disappoint. Bloomingdales (like Macy's) is a shoppers dream. I believe there are 10 floors of shopping and the entire first floor is dedicated to cosmetics (makeup/perfume/skin care). I would recommend popping into the visiting centre (if you are visiting... You have to stop by here just to say you did, but it's on another level of expensive. Shirts for a few hundred bucks, jackets and sweaters for $600 plus. Good for a laugh.

Decided we must take a visit to Bloomingdales. Well obviously you must have an unlimited cash flow to visit here. Lots of designer labels, though I must point out I purchased a pair of Uggs from Woodbury Common (New York outlet) costing $104 including tax, the same pair in Bloomingdales $210 not including tax. Won't return to Bloomingdales on my... More

You can not miss Bloomingdales to buy your little brown bag. But take plenty of money. There is more than one in New York. But avoid the one in upper town which is the outlet as I found it poor. But the one next to Roosevelt tram was a fair size.

Bloomingdales is a very expensive designer store and would be on a par with Harrods! It is an absolute must see though as it is a beautiful store. Lovely Bloomingdales related gifts to take home as souvenirs though

Anyone who has ever seen even a glimpse of Sex and the City will know this place - it is a NY retail icon. At the end of the day it is yet another high-end department store but one that come with the "little brown bag" or "medium brown bag". It has Louis Vuitton, Channel, Prada, Gucci and every other... Bloomingdales has been a fixture at Third Avenue and 59th Street for generations. It where the Upper East Side shops for fashionable clothes, furniture, china, flatware and kitchen supplies. The service personnel are polite and generally well informed. The great thing about shopping here is that you can easily see and compare so many high end brands of anything before... More

Again this is one of the place when I got the chance to visit New York I really wanted to go, it was not what I expected and was slightly let down, however the did have a good selection of brands and designers.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
