We were made to feel very valued and special by the shop floor manager, who was excited to have some Brits and wanted us to get a discount ( go to customer services with id for 10% or possibly 15%) off certain purchases. Hubby and son were told to go to floor 6 where there was a fußball and air... More

I live outside of the city - about 3.5 hours away and take the bus to NYC to do shopping once in a while. I had bought a Burberry scarf online but the color was not as expected. I was told by cs via phone to exchange the color in store so that I would keep the loyalist points during... More

This has been featured in multiple movies, glorified with jokes, a shopping center for multiple generations. And a hub for manhattanites. They have an excellent men's shop. And two terrific restaurants in addition to many top notch designer departments. Many social and cultural happenings take place monthly and attract. Locals, visitors for the states and overseas. There really is no... More

We went here because the store is famous, however it doesn't live up to its name. We preferred Macy's and the prices were better. The store needs more signs or a store map. The toilets were horrendous. We queue to find only one was in service and waited more than 20 minutes. They allow you to charge your phone for... More

Even with the discounts the prices remain high. That said the quality and selection is overwhelming and it's always a great place to go when you're looking for a nice gift. Always too crowded!

I am a massive fan of Friends and I love to shop so I had to visit Bloomingdales. It was awesome! I could have spent all day in here. I bought a Ted Baker make up bag and received a 'visitors tax discount' or something like that. My mum bought some perfume and the staff bent over backwards to help... More

Subway stop in the basement, Magnolia Bakery IN the store, concierge-coat check for luggage, Visitor Center, 10% off purchases as a tourist, staff stationed all around to direct and assist you, and 8 (?) stories of shopping with friendly and helpful sales staff, all without leaving the building. What more can I say? If you enjoy shopping, THIS store is... More

This is another of the big shopping stores in New York. We found the staff here more helpful than in Macy's. A kind man told us to go to customer services when we could get a discount card as we were visiting from the UK, this got us 10% off. We made our way to the Bloomingdale's gift shop where... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
