Wow, wow and wow. What a great display. If you are in NYC over Christmas you have to visit 5th Ave and watch the light show on front of the department store. It will really get you into a festive spirit. It's also right by the Rockefeller centre Christmas tree so you have literally no excuse Go!!

My first time in NYC during Christmas season and I had the chance to see the Rockefeller Center. While it is a must to do, what has been unexpected, surprising and simply beautiful is the light show on the Saks 5th avenue building. Add a few minutes to your time for this show. You can’t just drive by. Of course,... More

I would like to thank Saks for its fantastic Holiday light show for 2016. Most go to see the intricate window display but the light show is really great. The choice of music perfect amd the sophistication of the light show itself is very impressive. Being directly across from the Tree at Rock Center, Saks' light show makes this area... More

The light show, viewed by merely standing in front of the store, adds to the magical feeling for Christmas good cheer, warmth and good will as it is choreographed to exciting Christmas music. It repeats itself often enough that it can be experienced again just by trying to weave through the packed crowds viewing the intriguing holiday window displays. Of... More

The building itself is spectacular, let alone collections (and prices). I am sure, that I am adding more of the same photos as other folks have done already. Can't help it. These beautiful decorations truly give you a very warm and welcoming pleasant feeling of winter holidays. Shopping can be a bit difficult -- too many people everywhere, in every... More

First of all, if you come in December, you have to go to see the windows! They are absolutely amazing whether they are lit up or not. They have tons of shopping and department stores, so bring money! Just walking in is awesome and being among so many lavish goods!

when the shoe department literally has its own zip code, one must visit such a place. Yes, it really was that spectacular!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
