Saks has the best light show on Fifth Avenue, complete with music. It's a must see. We stood across the street, near Top Shop to watch.

I love shopping and designers, so Saks was heavenly to me! However, I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt and did feel out of place and a bit ignored as I was shopping around. Dress for the level of attention that you want to receive. I am not saying that everyone is wearing heels and ball gowns, but a more... More

Made a mistake of walking into Men's "lounge" on the 7th floor. Looks like the store spent all its money on Christmas decoration, so there's none left for bathroom cleaning. When I walked out, I told the store employee Caesar that bathroom desperately needs attention. Caesar shrugged his shoulders, while reading something on his phone, and said that it's because... We were able to visit the store immediately following the amazing holiday light show! What a treat! They spoiled us with a great show and then we got to stroll through the luxurious store while my 6 year old gathered sweets on each floor. It was so much fun! And the staff were incredibly kind and patient as they dealt... More

You can stand across the street from this place (just round from the Rockafella Centre) and watch and listen to a very clever and festive light and sound display. It's one of those 'costs you nothing' type experiences which stays with you. I tend to need a kick start to get into the Christmas spirit - but this display make... More

I forgot to mention the best thing about this store, which is that the rest rooms are open to all, and are quite nice. There's nothing worse, especially at my advanced age, then needing rest room facilities when out in NYC and being caught short. The restrooms at Saks are just as nice as the store itself and the merchandise... More

Saks has been taken over by a Canadian firm that also owns Lord and Taylor. They have the same brands as they have carried and have recently gone through renovation. If you like good Ladies European brands, go tot he second and third floors. The standout in Saks is their 10022 shoe department. It has a vast selection of designer... More

I enjoyed the visit to Saks Fifth Avenue because it reminds me of the many movies and TV shows in which the store was mentioned. It is interesting to look at the latest fashion and trends and browse for ideas but I never actually purchased anything there due to the very high prices.

Nice to stop by and see what was on trend. Went through all five floors bu the first had the majority of what we were looking for. Don't forget to bring your wallet, this place is certainly not cheap.

I always enjoy a stop at Saks. I can check out the latest in fragrances and cosmetics. Checking out the new styles is always fun.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
