It is organized and a sane way to shop. It's the only major dept store I can shop in They have terrific sales- the best dress dept for special occasion without putting you in the poor house - interesting boutique designers - Great costume jewelry dept. Nice to lunch at Sarabeths - they do a great job of gift wrap.... More

The service in this store is shocking. It's a mid range dept store which looks messy and has an attitude that turns customers away. Two July 16 examples - 1. Ladies shoe dept- it takes ages to get the size you need despite multiple assistance asking to help the process to actually retrieve the size is severely lacking. It took... More

It was very messy and the lady kept pushing to me and my friend to buy the exact same pair of shoes.. The prices were high and a little boy threw his teddy bear right were i was sitting and they didn't tell him any thing. The shoe part was very messy and the whole place was very smelly.

The buyers for this store know what they are doing. There are floors of great buys and rows of terrific finds. The sale racks are the best in the City and it tops the craziness of Bloomies on any given day!

From the 3rd floor to the 6th is all evening dresses and prom dresses. A good selection of dresses and very helpful staff. If you find the dress you want and it has a stitch or button loose they have an in house seamstress to mend it while you wait. In my mind a brilliant idea.

What started as a dry-good store in Downtown in 1826, changed several locations, had the first woman president in 1924 and was at one time leader of American fashion design, is nowadays a faded shadow of itself. The Christmas windows displays are probably the only reminder of old glory and attract a lot of attention every year. Owned by the... More

I used to visit this store whenever I was on holiday in NYC during the late 90s! It was really sparkling at the time with Lavish décor and exquisite top of the line products. There was even a salon and beauty area which offered treatments, facials etc. So much variety at the time and with high end products, this store... More

Lured by the amazing window displays, went to the iconic L&T in search of a new dress (or two) and some Spring tee-shirts. Despite being virtually empty, it was near-impossible to find a shop assistant to advise, and when I did finally track one down she was unhelpful to the point of rudeness. Come to think about it, maybe the... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
