DUMBO and Brooklyn Heights with Ronny. Staying at Pod51 hotel again ( first time October 2018 ) we took advantage of the great tours offered by the hotel and Streetwise. On our way to friends in Massachusetts we decided to spend a week in New York to do the tours we didn’t have time to do in 2018. This one was for us to a new area and we found it very interesting and entertaining. Ronny showed us many nice details on the way and happily answered all our questions. A great way to explore New York and learn things that you wouldn’t find in a mainstream guidebook!

Is there a better way of getting to know a city than by foot? Probably not. Or maybe there is: doing a walking tour with the guys from Streetwise NY Tours! They are very knowledgeable and give you a lot of good info, but in a fun and relaxed way. I did two tours (Chelsea, High Line & Greenwich Village with David; and Brooklyn Heights & DUMBO with Andrew) and both proved to be informative and interesting. On both tours there were people from all around the globe and they had a very good command of the group, trying to speak English in a way that everyone would understand. Also, it's a good opportunity to meet people if you travel solo: as a matter of fact, I now have a new Indian friend that I met on the first tour! Both Andrew and David answered our every question and were very nice. Tours last for 2 hours and a half and the participant has to bear in mind that they have to go back to their hotel on their own if they want to, as the group does not return to the meeting point. Highly recommendable!

My husband and I have done at least six walking tours with Streetwise over the past 3-4 years. We have seen parts of the city I would never have experienced and I have spent a lot of time in New York! This year we did the Upper West Side and Central Park and then Chelsea, the High Line and Greenwich Village. I always learn so much on these tours. All tours include a subway ride, which is a must for anyone who really wants to experience Manhattan. The guides are very knowledgeable and fun. Our tours have included people from all over the world: Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. The Pod hotels offer these tours for free most days of the week, which is how we have taken advantage of them. The tours last about 2 1/2 hours and cover a good deal of ground. Very worthwhile and highly recommended!

My boyfriend and I attended 3 walking tours (Greenwich Village, High Line, China Town, Little Italy, during our one-week-stay in NYC. We booked one first but then we had such a great time that we wanted to go to as many tours of theirs as possible. The guides were very nice and well-informed. They told plenty interesting stories and details about the locations which we could take with us home and talk about with enthusiasm. It was the best part of our trip.
