Our first time in the city and it was such a fun time. Our tour guide, Dan, told us a lot of interesting details about New York on our ride through the park. Would highly recommend and would definitely go again!

Enjoyed our bike tour of Central Park with Daniel. This is a great way to see the park, hear about the history and get your bearings for the area. Only suggestion would be for more care given at the beginning to ensure the bike is set for you.

We and another couple rented tandem bikes at 5pm for 2 hours. We rode into Central park and had a blast. Riding in traffic was a crazy adventure but this was definitely a highlight of our trip in NYC.

Reserved 4 bikes on website a few days in advance. On arrival, we were told by lady at shop that 2 cycle hire companies operated out of this site and we had booked with the "other" company whose bikes were broken. Nobody from that "other" company were present. She advised us to cancel our internet booking and hire bikes from her company - which she curiously offered us at exactly the same price we paid online, as long as paid cash.
We were given 4 bikes, but no checks were made by the lady. I quickly checked them and found one had low tyre pressure. I asked if she could inflate the tyre and I had to help as she couldn't manage to do it. Within the first mile, I felt the steering wasn't right. On examination the quick release wheels hadn't been fastened correctly - hence front wheel was coming loose!
Bikes were OK for most of day, until my teenage son turned his handlebars right on the bike path and the wheel didn't respond. The handlebars weren't tightened properly! Sent back to shop and asked same lady for an Allen key to repair it, but she had no tools. So we took another bike instead to finish off our day.
Enjoyed cycling New York, but this place has to be avoided due to appalling lack of safety checks on bikes, lack of knowledge by staff and dubious "dual" cycke companies that operated from these premises.
We did get our money back from original internet booking.

We rented 2 bikes for a sightseeing trip all over downtown NYC & Brooklyn. Excellent bikes, but the process of getting them (even when reserved in advance online) is a tedious one. Be prepared for a long wait in the queues to first pay for your rental, then get a lock & helmet, and finally the bikes themselves. The return went a bit more smoothly.
But the quality of the quasi brand new bikes is splendid. Way better than a few other places I rented bikes before... Up to you if that's worth a 1+ hour of waiting in a crowded store on a (hopefully) sunny day.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 hour bike ride on a beautiful October day. Very reasonable price from Groupon.
Only criticism is that there very few public washrooms in Central Park.

My family of four, including two kids ages 9 and 12, rented bikes at this location. The service was efficient, quick, and the location is just two blocks from Central Park. The helmets, locks, and bikes were all in perfect working conditions. If you have children younger than 9, I have to let you know they don't really have bikes for little kids. My 9 year old was barely big enough for their smallest bike. She is used to the breaks being in the pedals, but this was a regular bike with the breaks in the handles, so it took her some getting used to.
Overall, I would recommend this place, and will rent from there next time we go to NYC.

Starts cheap, but by the time you're done with the park - 5 min late will cost you twice what you paid for original 2 hours (and pretty close to the electic rickshaw).

Rented bikes from these guys. Bikes were not very good. They did not take the time to size properly. The service was worse. Lack of an ability to communicate with the bike fitters. I brought my 5 bikes in one hour late and they charged me late fees for all five bikes. I was certainly open to pay a late fee, but I felt all five bikes was excessive and I was being gouged. It was the end of the day, it was raining, there were several bikes at the store that were inactive, thus there was no market for the 5 bikes I had that were late. Not only did they assess the heavy late fee, but the person working the front desk doing so was not friendly or cooperative about it, and did not apply any warm customer services skills. It is clearly part of their revenue plan to capitalize on late fees. I would go elsewhere for bike rental needs in NYC. When the owner replies to my review explaining his late fee policy don't believe him. It is a ruse.
